Color Problem I have 3 nos of Samsung 15" CRT Monitors based on DP14L15L. All EHT (FBT) were burnt out and I've replaced it. The EHT were 'Sampo Made' and I've replaced with the same one but now all the monitors are giving slight color problems like in one red is more in one green is more and so on I've tried interchanging the CRT and the base boards also but all remained same. There is no pot to adjust the color.Some one has suggested me to use 'Samsung's Softjig software, and the Samsung Softjig interface assembly. But it will be a very lengthy procedure.Can you please give me a solution to fix it? REGDS Samkong

I think monitor is samtron45bn.
if you have any serial eeprom burner than desold out the eeprom and reprogram the bin file on it, that file is availaible on net.

after 4 or 5 yrs EHT ( transformer that supplies voltage to CRT TUBE - MONITOR TUBE ) becomes weak - then 1 of the indication is ....DISPLAY WON'T COME BUT LED BLINKS........so solution is EHT ( also called as flyback transformer ) should be replaced....... {{ few details about EHT---- its size will be around 3inch X 2inch X 2inch ---it will have 2 or 3 knobs to adjust focus , brightness ------ at bottom around 10 pins will be there ------- from EHT 1 thick red colour cable goes to CRT TUBE --------- on EHT its part number will be there }} -------- so if user is a technical person having idea about components ( resistors, transistors, diodes, etc ) , having tools like multimeter ( to check components) , soldering iron, soldering lead, flux, desoldering wig ( for removing components), etc also little experience in servicing field( very much compulsory) ----------------- then user can remove EHT from main board ---- take to electronic shop ----- buy same type EHT --------- fix to mainboard ( knobs on EHT should be adjusted according to picture --- after switching monitor --- this adjustment is very important ) ----------iam from bangalore (09986222774, [email protected]) ----- here EHT's price will be around Rs 250 ( US $ 6 ) & for my customers (in bangalore) i will take another Rs 500 (US $ 11) as service charge......i don't have any idea about EHT ' s price & service charge in your place.........since it is very risky job i suggest to contact monitor service engineer ------- because they are highly experienced & can fix this component very easily....

When i switched on monitor samsung 55v, the display comes ,with in a second display off,then power led not glowing

In my LG CRT monitor there is sparking occuring between the high voltage lead of FBT and the heat sink near the FBT.What could it be due to and how can i fix the problem?

After Monitor is ON, A Sound like chi chi coming out.
yes you first check the capacitor in primary filter 150microfarad/400v if faulty then replace it if not then check boost capacitor near eht (big capacitor near yoke connecter)if faulty replace it

Repair
Good luck finding a replacement FBT; support for CRT monitors is fading fast.
That transformer is probably not the only thing that failed, the horizontal output transistor that drives it is likely bad too.
If you want to repair it, I also recommend you check any bipolar capacitor in that section as it may also have failed.

Samsung SyncMaster 793MB 17 in.CRT Troubleshooting
remove EHT wire and clean that area with spirit or isopropal alchohal. dry it . if neccessary replace the EHT cap. apply JELLY (like vasiline)at EHT cap and at CRT where EHT placed. if possible spray the ecrilic.dry it and it will never gives trouble like this.
