The wire brakes

At the end of the clippers , he wire brakes because of constant bending.

the FSM book on car covers this.
or buy used lines, and use as guide.
i think toyota still sells them.

you got the right tool for the brake flare, tool , double cone them.
if not they will be unsafe.
and if using wrong lines. same. there are lines that are not for brakes.
where did you get the blank lines....
do not use copper or brass and only use DOT certified lines , done or raw.

Wahl clippers: I have the cordless model. Can not get blade to stay on. pops off the minute I turn clippers on.
Bend the 2 spring clips at the front of the clipper down a bit and try again.

Power goes in and out
Depending on how much use it's gotten or the way it's been stored when not in use it could be a cord issue, either a wire that's not connected completely anymore or a faulty wire. Is the power going to the clipper effected at all if you bend of wiggle the cord when this happens?

I took off the end cap of my single speed A5 to clean out the dog hair and now they will not run. Before I took the end cap of and cleaned out the hair, the clippers would run intermitenly. Sometimes...
Chances are if you could wiggle the cord and get your clippers to start again there is a short in your power cord. However there is a list of other things to check:
  1. Within the cap are two brass tabs which sit across from conjugate tabs within the main housing. These are designed to contact each other when the cap is secured. If there is any question whether they are in contact, you can exaggerate the bend slightly to ensure that they are.
  2. Check your carbon brushes to make sure they are not worn down. The brushes are directional so make sure the concave surface direction matches that of the housing and thus the armature contained within.
  3. Lastly, check your toggle switch. Gently, tug on each end of the switch's wires to make sure they are secured to both the housing and the switch. These wires can become broken and appear to be attached to the switch when they are not. The number one cause is a loose or missing switch nut, especially since Oster has switched from metal to plastic on the nut.

Cutting blade doesn't move
could be the spring is faulty on thie hinge assembly or the tip of the latch has brocken off not securing the blades to the clipper, either way check to see if the blade will disconnect from the clipper without depressing the latch. related clipper parts can be found at www.angliaclipperservices.com

Runs if tipped to the right. Not if tipped to the left
check the electrical cord at the clipper connection by bending the electrical cord at clipper end with the clipper on if the clipper stops the electrical cord is broken in side.if this will dose not locate the problem, the next possible problem will be the coil inside the clipper the coil has a broken field winding wire. Have a Wahl clipper repair shop repair the problem.

NEED TO FIX FRONT BRAKE LINE METAL
In a pinch, I agree, use a compression fitting. But that is even harder than doing it the right way. After cutting the line, you have to have it perfectly round. By working with the already rusty metal, you are now fatiguing the metal. Then add on the compression, and added weight, and you get yourself a weak point.

The easiest way is to by the right length line or lines (It is far better to have more than less), the couplers (if needed), and any special adapters you may need (ie 3/16 standard flare to 1/4 bubble flare.) Take with you the ends and a section of line. The line is not that expensive ($7 for the longest.)

Start running the line, one section at a time, making sure to keep the ends on the end. When you need to make a bend, DO NOT make a tight bend that crimps the line. Discard the line if this happens. If you have a tool, use it. Other wise use you hand to make, gentle bends. Connect one end and connect the couplers, if used. When you get to the other side, wind the excess around a spiral. Secure with wire or existing retainers.

This is way safer than a compression fitting, and not all that hard. Remember to bleed the brakes

Oster Golden A5 keep turning themselves off whilst I'm clipping
Ok turn your clipper on and hold it still in one hand whilst with the other hold the cable near the end of the clipper and bend it, rotate and twist if your clipper cuts in and out you have a break in the cable which is tricky to fit but our web site Help section can help.
