I beleive that in Windows, when burning something on to disc (be it CD or DVD), you have to go to the actual drive window (via "My Computer" and select "Burn these items to disc". From what I remember of the days I burned discs this then burns the file onto the disc.

Hope this helps!

How to burn onto DVD the shows downloaded from youtube using my microsoft movie maker?

First, you need to download the videos from youtube. You can go to http://www.keepvid.com/. It's the easiest way.

Then open windows movie maker and put all the videos there from your desktop. After that, click on save movie then "burn a dvd".

Windows movie maker will not burn to DVD. Says to

As you may be aware, Movie Maker doesn't natively burn DVDs. Or Video CDs (VCDs), which are playable by any DVD Players, but are of significantly lower quality than DVD.
What do you need to into DVD? How about MyDVD is the easiest and direct route, requiring little or no format conversion.

Cannot burn AVCHD disk. Get this error

The problem with creator 2009 has been fixed by the roxio people.
Instead of burning directly to the DVD disk as roxio software states,
one needs to first save this to be AVCHD movie as a file and then burn directly from the file. This works OK, but as stated this is different
from what the software claims. I'm happy. Thanks

Saving in DVD format

The DVD format is VOB. In the Windows Movie Maker you can save movies as DV-AVI, but in order to burn them onto a DVD disc you should convert them into VOB files using burning software (for example- Nero).
