Sometimes removing battery will mean the radio has to be re-coded on re-placing the battery.
You may this same situation if your battery went completely flat.

You either have a bad LCD display OR the connection for the LCD display is loose/off. Its impossible to tell what channel you are on with a 2950 without the screen working, but when you turn the channel knob do you hear any other cb transmitting on ANY channel?? This is a tough one!! I really need some more info on the radio.
Open the case and look at the area that the display is in (front of radio). Slightly wiggle all of the little plugs in that area. If you see the LCD screen come on or flash then you know where your problem lies. If not, then you're probably looking at buying a LCD display for the radio.

Radio says "CHECK" but is otherwise unresponsive. Turning car or radio on/off doesn't help.
On the far right of the radio, there's a round TUNER button. Press it for 5 seconds. Your screen will then show some digits, but the unit is still unresponsive.
Press tuner button again for 5 seconds. Radio should now be 100% again. Let me know if this works for you.
you have the unlock code or the gm code? here is how to enter your code
press the hour set button on your radio until you get the first two numbers of the code, then press the minute set button until you've entered the last two numbers. Immediately press the AM/FM button once the correct code is entered and the code SEC or "secured" will be displayed on the display screen. Now, just turn the radio on, and your ready to roll. There is an additional step you can take to remove all codes from the radio and start from scratch by entering your own personalized 4 digit code so that it won't get you in a pickle again! Just repeat step 4 and you should get a display screen that reads ---. This means the code is out, and you can now program your own code. Of course, once you receive
