Greetings, my Panasonic DMR-ES10 DVD recorder tray will not open. I opened the unit, and the RUBBER BAND that drives the tray to open is broken. Can I buy replacement RUBBER Band anywhere? Thank you Pal369
Thank you for your help, but like I stated, the rubber band, (belt) that drives the gear to open the tray is BUSTED. Found a place that sells them, will replace this week end. I don't think holding any keys down will open the tray, since it's driven by the belt from the tiny motor. Thanks.

Didn't read your problem properly. Sorry

Sorry - forgot to mention. You need to hold "Stop" and "Channel Up" buttons for 5 seconds. Tray will then eject. Also - May be in manual "Troubleshooting guide/Operation/Cannot eject disc". Had same problem myself once and searched internet for solution.

Put the machine in standby mode (ie switch power button on machine or remote) then, press and hold the STOP and CHANNEL UP buttons simultaneously. This will force the disk tray to open.

changed a faulty capacitor as machine failed to start up one morning. Then found out after some tests that a capacitor had failed. Replaced it with a new one and everything was fine until I updated the Freeview channels now the dvd don't open or shut. It is telling me I must press remote to activate the dvd drive. Just wandering if anyone has had or heard of this problem. Also had to order a new remote control as mine is damaged but is it worth buying one or is the recorder totally broken and not worth wasting the money.
