Black screen blue box saying

some one must have put in a boot password to your laptop,
follow this:
When booting up, enter your BIOS setup (usually by pressing the F2 key at the appropriate time).

Locate the BIOS Password section and turn the ON STARTUP password to off. There is no standard setup for BIOS, so I can't give you exact instructions.

If this does not work, try:
remove cell & start your pc you will here beep...beep...beep...

then turn off your pc & restore your cell.Start your pc and
password is removed.

there is a battery on motherboard,a button cell, you can try removing that and start computer, then put it back, bios settings will be lost.
you can also try removing any hardware like ram,if you have two, when system is off, turn on , it will prompt for changes , enter bios and try remove password.

My lenovo model name 4330 is asking for a HDD Password. and i dont know it

Yikes!!! I'm not calling you a thief, but 99% of the time when you encounter a laptop that has a lock on the hard drive and the person in possession of the laptop does not know the password, the laptop is stolen. The original owner put the lock on to keep thieves from getting to sensitive data. It could have been put on remotely by the original owner once they realized the laptop was missing.

You're up the creek without a paddle.

How do you unlock a computer

What's locked on it? There are three passwords that can be set on a computer. 1) Bios Password, 2) Hard Drive Password & 3) Windows Welcome Screen User Logon Password. Which one are you talking about?

If you're talking about the Hard Drive Password, then 99% of the time it's a stolen laptop. If you're smart enough to set the hard drive password, you're smart enough to remember it. The Hard Drive Password is set the by original owner to keep thieves from getting to sensitive data. Sometimes the original turns on the Hard Drive Password remotely once the laptop is stolen. The only way to break the code is for the original owner to put the password in. The stolen laptop is useless to the thieves without the Hard Drive Password.

I have a toshiba laptop that I have had cleaned by a friend. now it requires a pass word and mine does not work. howdo I set it back to manufacturer standards?

Ask your friend if he has put the password. Another option is try go to CMOS setup if you can & disable the option of password. But this seems unlikely. Open the laptop if you know how to open it. Locate for the reset switch, it can be found below keyboard. It can be a reset switch or just put a jumper across it for few seconds & your laptop will reset. If there is nothing like this, locate CMOS battery. Remove it for about half a minute & put it back.
