Have you been already check the speaker does it good?. if ok, tried to hooked up a powered pc speaker at the audio output jack of the tv. turn on, if you can get sound there the cause it would be bad amplifier circuit but if you can not get sound from there you have bad sound processor at the board.

SOURCE: LCD Screen Flashes briefly with good pic, sound is OK...picture is on for only a sec.

It is most likely one of the transformers on the inverter board. They are rectangular in shape and there are 8 of them. Replacing the inverter board usually fixes the TV. db

SOURCE: 42 in. vizio. just went blank. no sound or pic.

unplug it from the wall and hold down the power button for a few seconds to discharge any residual energy left inside the TV's electronics. Then plug it back in and see if there is any picture, even if only for a moment.

Some sets will have a reset sequence that restores all the factory defaults. This will sometimes bring your TV back around if it happens to get stuck on stupid. You'll have to search Google for your model's reset button sequence. Often it will be something like: With the power off, hold down the INPUT and VOL+ buttons at the same time. Click the power button and continue holding down the INPUT and VOL+ for a few seconds.

Your's may be different, or not at all.

I've seen this fix a TV before. But I've also seen this symptom on a TV that had a bad logic main board. Another thing to try would be a firmware update. See if your TV has a USB port available to do this. It will often be labeled as "SERVICE". Again, you'll need to search the web for more instructions, and for the firmware file itself. Often these can be obtained from the manufacturer's web site.

It is under warranty, I would take it back and ask for exchange, bad sign that it goes out in less tahn 30 days.

You need to check the main AC fuse in the power supply, located at the bottom left of the picture here:

SOURCE: Vizio M261VP 26'' LCD TV no picture, logo does not light up

If the Vizio logo(power indicator) isn't coming on when the set is plugged in, most likely you have a issue with the power supply. Your standby power supply isn't working, and without it, you will have a dead set.

Tv truns on then turns off

if model indicated do the self check it has:

On front of set when green light for power goes out press and hold both the menu and input (source) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks a pause and repeat it for a total of 5 times.

If set has been unplugged you must plug it back and try to get set to turn on--unplugging clears the errors.

Let me know what error you find and I will tell you what it means.

I bought a 52" plasma

you can try unplugging it for 10 secs, then plugged back in. Press and hold the menu button and minus volume button on the actual tv. While still holding those two buttons, press the power button. Continued to hold the menu and minus volume button for additional 3 secs. The tv should turn on in about 30 secs. If that does not work call customer care.

If you go jvc .com enter your model # ,there is an article on how to reset the tv. First you have to unplug your tv for 10 secs., plug it back in and press and hold the menu and vol- buttons while holding these buttons in press the power button once, count to 3 and release the menu and vol- button. The lillte blue light should be on. wait for 40 secs. the picture should now come back on. This worked for me, I had the same trouble.

JVC 42 inch LCD HD TV has no picture or sound

utencilio posted this fix. It worked for my JVC LT-42X579.

Okay, I found a fix! Called JVC, spoke to somebody there, here it is:
1)unplug the TV completely, no wall no power strips, completely
2)wait 10 sec
3)plug TV back in and Turn it on, the light will still be doing the same thing
4)wait 30 sec
5)ON THE TV, not the remote, locate the menu, volume (-) and power button.
6)while simultaneously holding down the menu and volume (-) button, pressed the power button ONCE and continue to hold the other 2 for 10 sec.
7)on the remote control, go to menu>settings>system info
*** now this I know as a FACT will work on systems that display: JVC - ver.5.32FO001, but I don't know of any other versions***
8)press the mute button on the remote twice
9)unplugg TV again and wait 10 sec.
10) plug TV in and turn on

It SHOULD be working normally now... Thanx to the guys a JVC support for this one, I know it seems like an obvious first place to look, but sometimes it isn't. I for one checked online forums first
