So my mp3 player has been working totally fine since ive had it and now all of a sudden my computer does not recognize it at all. It says its an unknown device so I look at said unknown device and it says there are no drivers installed on it. Well thats lovely, so i go to samsung's website and they dont even have a download for the driver for windows XP! I tried to "update" the driver but portable devices isnt listed so there is nothing I can do. The mp3 player works fine, it charges and plays music, but now Im stukc with the same music until I can fix it! Does anyone know how to fix this?

This happens quite often with USB drives in general.
Start by plugging it into another computer (minimum WinXP). If it works there, nothing is wrong with your player, but your computer has "lost" the driver.
Fixing things so the player is again recognized by that computer is complicated, and some choose to reformat the computer, or use a different computer to maintain the player.
Explaining exactly how to do fix your computer is a bit too involved to do here. I haven't found a definitive guide, but several suggestions by searching Google for:
won't recognize usb drive
Problem Solved: My MMP8567 screen read ''boot error shutting down''.
Everytime I plugged it in to the computer the computer would find it but then it would disappear almost immediately.
I downloaded the Updater program from Memorex but it couldn't find the player.
The directions from Memorex said ''Hold down the play button and plug
in usb cable.'' Another set of Memorex directions said, ''Hold down
the power button and plug in usb cable.'' Neither worked for me.
SOLUTION: I finally held down the LOCK/UNLOCK button and plugged in
the usb cable. My computer found the player immediately and a software
driver window popped up asking for a driver. I let windows search the
internet and it found and installed the driver. The driver it was
looking for was: ''player recover device class driver'' After windows
confirmed it recognized my mp3 player I started up the Firmware update
program and was able to update the player.
I tried to be clear and detailed. Good Luck ;-)
Try plugging in usb with the H10 turned off. Now, press the select button (with the round symbol on it) while turning the H10 on. This starts the player in 'emergency mode' and should be recognized by XP
I think I have a solution. First you turn on the MP3 Player and then go to the menu. Go down to settings. Then, go to USB. Go down to "MSC" and hit the middle button. It should take you back to the settings menu. That means you successfully changed that setting. Now plug the MP3 Player back into the computer and open up "My Computer." It should show up. I hope this helps!
Check which version of Windows Media Player you have loaded.
Open Windows Media Player. Click "Help" and "about". This should show which version you have.
Windows Automatic Updates may hve updated to version 11.
The Philips HDD6330 is only compatible with version 10 under Windows XP.
If you have version 11, then uninstall and it should roll back to version 10.
