Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Opening/closing game, not very fun.

When I go to put a game, or dvd in my 360 the tray closes, then immediatly opens. It does this game for a few mins before it randomly desides to read the disc, then all is good. Oh and some of the time when it say opening the tray physically moves 1mm but doesn't properly open. Any ideas?

I'm not in the return/exchange period, and it has no mod chip.

Looks like your switch is jamed or fried, or you installed a modchip incorrectly. If you still are in the return/exchange period, exchange it

How to fix the "open tray" error on Xbox 360

When ever you have a problem with your Xbox 360 always do these steps first:
1. Turn off your Xbox 360
2. Unplug all of your cords
3. Plug your cords back in
4. Turn your Xbox 360 back on

1. Now with your Xbox 360 on open your tray.
2. Hold your tray open while you turn Xbox 360 off making sure it doesn't close.
3. Still making sure your tray doesn't close turn it back on.
4. Have fun!!!

If this does not work you will have to send it into microsoft to fix. If your warranty is up you will have to pay $150 to fix it. Otherwise it's free

The power light blinks, reads open tray/close tray . . .

it sounds like your dvd drive is dead if its still under warranty you should just send it back to microsoft the only other thing you could do is buy a replacement dvd drive and put it in yourself but only do that if microsoft wont take it or you'll void your warranty

Xbox 360 starts up randomly, tray opens and closes spontenaously

I have the same Problem my X box came on spontaniously and the DVD tray opens and closes non stop till I get the RROD code. it will play games and DVDs only if it stays closed long enough to start then it opens up and starts the cycle all over. I opned up the DVD drive and can't see any thing blocking any thing I even used a Q tip to pit a little oil on the screw meckanisim that opens the drive and blue it out with compressed air. and it did not fix the problem I am going to have to buy a new drive my Drive is a Philips drive.
