Quasar tv/vcr combo vv2009

Wondering if anyone can help????????? When I play tapes the picture is in black and white,but if I am just watching the tv I have color. I also have a dvd hooked up to the unit and all the dvd's play in color...What could the problem be with the vcr playback only being in black and white? Thanks-

Thanks- will try the head cleaner, but knowing the luck I have it will probably be the color circuit!!!

Hi, I have a problem similar to Linda's. I don't have color on any tape that is recorded at home (two different VCRs). However, I seem to have color on 'commerical' tapes, e.g. a Wiggles tape. I cleaned the heads and still have the same problem. I also recorded a program on a brand new tape, using a different VCR. The tape plays back in color on other VCRs, but not the one in question. Ideas?

It is in the Luminence circuit. it's about 50 pins, and it has an oscillator on top of a chip marked Toshiba on it. Don't know the actual part number because I don't have the schem, but it says VCRS 0167

Clean the head of your vcr if that does not work then you will have to call in the tech to look into your problems goood luck.it is probably the color circuit

Why GE TV plays color DVD/VCR tapes in black and white

Some inputs on tvs won't process the color signal. Try one of the other inputs. Mine does the same. If u have already used the working ones on something else, U will need a switch to select one or the other available at Radio Shack if u can find one.

I am trying to program a Comcast digital remote control to turn on & off my Quasar VV2009 TV. All the codes listed by Comcast do not work. What is the remote code for this tv?

It wont work because its a TV/VCR combo. you can try anyvcr or combo codes there are but it probably wont work. I work for comcast and have seen this happen 1000 times sorry for the bad news

Quasar model VV2008 tv/vcr

in side the mother board(kit) there should be vertical IC gone. check the vertical section for the IC number and replace it , this will solve ur problem

the vcr is plugged into a digital line, try changing the port on the back of the t.v and or change cables this happened to me and i couldnt figure it out for the life of me :)

Philips universal remote 4 digit codes

For combination tv/vcr the codes on the Phillips remote are 0039, 0739. I can only enter the channel I want to watch I can not use the up and down arrows for some reason.

VCR plays for a few seconds and rewinds. Now, the VCR plays tape in fast forward mode

Most everyone I know had problems with the tv/vcr combo including myself. I'll never buy one again. I'm sorry you are having the same problem.

It is not clear whether one DVD or all DVDs play in black and white. If it is only one make sure that the format of the DVD is correct. If it is all DVDs, given that the VHS tape and cable play with color, there could be a problem with the chroma circuit in the unit. This is probably something that a technician would need to diagnose. Good luck.
