How do you remove the water restrictor from a GIAGNI Kitchen Faucet, Fresco Model PD180-SS?

If this is a kitch faucet with the spout/sprayer combo, then there are two possible locations. One location is at the ends of the supply tubes with 1/2" npt threaded ends where they connect to the flex supplies from your two valves under the sink. Turn the water off and disconnect the supply nuts. The flo-checks can often be removed using needlenose pliers.

The other possible location is at the spout itself, but this type may not be removable without damaging the seal to the aerator. Remove the aerator, and there is probably a light spring in there. If you remove the flo-check from beneath the spring, tha aerator may not seat properly and will leak. Good luck.

How to remove the aerator to clean screen

The aerator is screwed into the faucet assembly. Sometimes lime deposits make this hard to unscrew so you may need large pliers with a lot of tape to protect the finish from scratches.
- remember, left-loosy/righty tighty, but it's upside down, so clockwise to loosen, when viewed from above the faucet.

How do I remove the aerator?

aerator always screw off typically counter clock wise (lefty loosy), but remember the aerator is "upside-down" as you look at it on the faucet arm. There are two types, male threaded and female threaded. Both unscrew from the faucet arm the same. There are at least four different sizes so take the old you with you when you go to replace it. Most times the threads are gunked up by lime and hard water deposits which means a pair of pliers or channel locks along with gentle rotation of the aerator cap will be needed to loosen the threads. Be aware that a washer may tend to stick in the faucet arm opening after you remove the aerator. Stick your pinky into the faucet spout opening and fell if there is a black rubber washer. Replace with a new one in reverse.

Is there a water restricter in this faucet

without manufacturer name and model, the best answer is a guess. most faucets have aerators which can limit the GPM (gallons per minute flow rate)of a faucet. with relative ease an aerator can be removed, disabled, and reinstalled to permit free flow from the faucet without making too much of a mess.

The small round metal mesh discs inside the kitchen tap have fallen out & will not stay in when re-inserted. Now the water squirts out at weird angles drenching the kitchen work surfaces. Do I need a...

Hi Jean,

These mesh discs and the part they go into - along with a few other small parts - make up what is called "an aerator".

Most aerators simply screw on threads at the end of your faucet. You can remove it by twisting it. You may need a wrench to loosen it first. Wrap the aerator in thick cloth / towel so that the wrench does not dent or scrape the finish on the aerator body.

Some aerators thread up and inside the faucet - rather than at the end - and need a special wrench to remove

Once removed, you should reassemble the parts and reinstall on the faucet. You may find replacement aerators in Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. if you're missing parts, etc. If changing it out, be sure to bring the old one with you to match.

I hope this helps & good luck!

How do I access the aerator on the the subject kitchen faucet. I can't seem to grab the aerator

You have an aerator that requires a key because it is recessed into the faucet. You can acquire one by calling 1-800-4-KOHLER as all Kohler faucets come with a lifetime warranty. You can even ask about getting a new aerator. Technically you can get it out by using two small flathead screwdrivers and turning them counterclockwise, but I would advice using the key because you can either scratch the faucet or injure yourself.

Can't figure out aerator assembly for bathroom faucet Model 121-014

Hi Mackenzey,

Generally, the aerators screw into the faucet. You have to unscrew the piece that is on there now. To do this, use slip-joint pliers. Be sure to wrap something around the piece first or you'll scratch the finish.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote. Thanks,

I installed Series 26 Avalon faucet. The water flow rate is very slow. All fittings to the faucet are new. Could the problem be a faulty valve ?

Remove and clean the Price Pfister aerator. Turn the water on after you remove the aerator and check the flow-rate. Many new Lavatory and kitchen faucets are now equipped with Eco friendly water saver aerators. if the flow is normal without the aerator, the faucet is OK. if you want more water flow from your lavatory faucet, you will need to buy one of the old style high flow aerators from your hardware store. If you remove the aerator and still get low pressure from both hot and cold faucets, you may need to replace the faucet. Call the Price Pfister warranty phone number that came with your faucet.

I would take the aerator off, and turn faucet on to see if the same thing happens. the aerator screws on the very end of faucet were water comes out. You may need channel locks to loosen, If your worried about marking up the aerator with scratches, then hold a cloth around aerator to protect the finish. Do not squeeze to hard with pliers. If there is a constant flow now with the aerator off, then your problem is a clogged up aerator. Disasemble, laying pieces out on table the same way they came out for proper reassembly, after cleaning.
