To
remove
the write protect lock, take the memory card out
of the camera, face the card towards you,
look for a small white tab on
the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab up to unlock
it, it will
be at the side of the card like this .
Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
i have a kenwood kdc-241 car stereo and it has gone onto protect mode i have done everything it says in the manual and even taken it out of the car just in case it was damp i have tried putting it back in but still is in protect mode can anyone help me please
If you are using an SD card, it could be possible that the Write Protect tab (the yellow tab on the top right) is in the 'lock' position. Slide it back and try again. If this does not work, make sure you are using the card and not the internal memory to store images.
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Take the memory card out of the camera. Look at it carefully and you will seea small tab. Move the tab from the locked position to the unlocked position. Re-install the memory card into the camera and then you're done.
