Hi! I just came back from holidays and transferred all pictures and SOME video clips successfully into my computer. However, some video clips cannot be opened and the computer says that there is an error with those. During the holidays, when i on the camera to view some videos, the screen says PICTURE ERROR. I think this might be linked to why i can't open those video files.
Also, worse, now when i switch on my camera, the screen shows WRITE PROTECT and when i press the playback button, it says PICTURE ERROR with an icon on top showing a green key boxed up.
Can anyone troubleshoot the problem? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks!
Sounds as if the memory card has corrupted data on it now. You will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup Menu - right arrow to Format- Press Ok. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect and picture error messages and the card can be used again.

I can't format the microSD: 4GB SanDisk memory card (This disk is inserted in OLYMPUS MASD-1 microSD ATTACHMENT), then I trying to... - the screen freezes in black. I think best solution for me is to buy other memory card and forget about all photos I lost, am I right?

I plugged my camera into a mac when i usually use a pc to transfer pictures and now when i want to take a picture "Write Protect" comes up with a red exclamation mark inside a red box. The camera works fine without the memory card. I am using a MicroSD attachment if that makes any difference. I would be very grateful for any assistance.
I tried formatting my card, but write protect still comes up! then the screen freezes.
