My iPod is being rediculous.

When I went to connect my iPod into the computer, it said that there was an error and that I needed to reformat it, but when I tried, it said that I couldn't due to the fact that there was an error...? When I unplugged it my ipod's screen went white with a checkmark in the middle. it says "OK to disconnect", and it wont turn off. The screen is lit up too....

Hi! I think there is a virus in your iPod. Check your ipod with an antivirus when it is in diskmode. Then you need to open itunes and restore your ipod and will restore it to factory settings.

And if it doesn't work then Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.

Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect.

After doing this open latest version of itunes and then restore your ipod to factory settings by selecting it from itunes.

I reset the my ipod just like the apple web site said. Then it showed a power cord going 2 an outlet from the wall. So i plugged it in the wall. It still showed it. Then I pressed the menu and center...

You must have a 3rd or 4th gen Ipod. It should not do this with a reset. If you reformat it through Itune , then it will. The plug into a power outlet means it is trying to reformat. If it will not, your hard drive is corupted or logic board. If it is the hard drive and you can get it to show on your computer, you can go to your disc utilities and erase the hard drive by writing zeros. then connect to Itunes and reformate. Plug into a power wall charger and it should complete. You need a good charge in your battery. If your battery is not charging or needs to charge , that will stop it from completing a reformat. I hope this helps.

IPod nano 4G that iTunes no likey

reformat your ipod, if you installed itunes via disc or from file, you should have the option in itunes to restore your ipod to factory settings. If you have songs on your ipod that arnt on your computer, you will need to copy them off the ipod before you restore your ipod.
To copy music off an ipod that is YOURS (in XP) go to my computer>click on your ipod> then go to tools>folder options>View TAB>and click on the option "show hidden files and folders". Then there should be a folder somwhere in your ipod (depending on what ipod you have) that says music. Copy that folder to the desktop and filter through all of the folders inside it for your music.
