Assuming "cannot connect to linksys router directly" means you cannot connect to a Wireless Lan managed by Linksys router,
1) try to connect new computer to LinkSys Router using a Lan cable, add new PC to your network.
2) recover protocol (WEP or WPA) and Key of WLAN (Passphrase or Key: TKIP or AES) either from other PC on same network either from your Router.
3) If you missed actual key you must connect to router and reset it to a new key to be eventually used for every connected device.

I have a sony ps3 and i have a linksys router , but my sony ps3 is not picking it up or connecting to it , it keeps asking me about the wpa key and i dont know it, what am i doing wrong ?"

When youclick Refresh network list, then Choose yourwireless network and then click Connect to your secured WirelessNetwork, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connectinto your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, orWPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used to configure the Wireless Router. The Passphraseis an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in thelaptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

I'm having a problem setting up my linksys wireless router. My computer sees the connection but will not connect to it? I've tried the repair option and tried to add a network with out any luck.

As i remember Linksys goes with Straight Through Ethernet cable. Always, good thing is to connect your computer to Wireless Router using LAN port. Set DHCP (Automatic) connection for your computer. After receiving ip from router you can setup your Wireless Router using GUI, and setup your Wireless Network, SSID/Security. From adapter to adapter there can be some misc problem with WEP/WPA/WPA2 and so on, so it maybe your issue, or OS blocking connection to Wireless Networks without security.

Laptop says no internet connection

First you need to ensure proper connection and filtering. Make sure the source cable is plugged into the Linksys router first. Direct connections must be made to the router, meaning the cable to your main computer should come from the router, not the main source.

Next make sure that the connection is made. You should see a light on the router indicating proper internet connection. Once this is accomplished, connect your main computer and you should have access to the internet on it.

Now comes the easy but somewhat tricky part (tricky only because icons can vary a little). If you haven't already done so, run the setup disk for Linksys. It's has simple, easy-to-follow instructions to set up your network. Now for the laptop. On the blue bar at the bottom of the laptop screen there should be an icon indicating internet connection. Click on that icon to show available wireless networks. Most likely your Linksys router will show up as a secure network. When you click on that connection it will ask you for a WEP key. That key is usually a 10 digit alpha-numeric key written on the back of the router. Sometimes it's on the box the router came in. Sometimes it requests a 12 digit WEP key, in which case simply add two zeros to the front of that same key. If you set up a password for your wireless network you will need that as well.

NOTE: if you have neighbors close, you should always secure your network with a password.

You may need to shut down and restart the laptop in order for the changes to take place.

It sounds confusing, but once you start you'll find that it's actually fairly straight forward. I hope this helps. Good luck!
