I cannot see images in the LCD display, because its all white.
I can use the machine using the optical visor, and I can also take pictures.
It doesn't matter if I turn the camera off and on several times, the problem remains and I also tried to swuitch the mode, and press all the buttons.
It is noy a memory stick or charge problem.
Don't known what to do, the camera is brand new.
Help please !!

Re: LCD display is white
Hello dieguito,
First of all the display is white most probably because it doesn't receive singnals from the mainboard. What you see is actually the led backlight of the display. Without any signals these displays are white, and when signal is applied the transistors that form the actual tft (thin film transistor) pannel opose light on different wave lenghts in order to achive different colors. The signal is fed into the display via a data cable and that's where the problem could be, it may not make a perfect electric connection. Another case would be that the camera's firmware got corrupted and needs to be re-written. However if your camera is new, i suggest you take it for an in warranty check at a service center. The first option will require dissasembling your camera and the second one writting a special software onto it. The W series are known to have some problems with the screen but their firmware (it's bassicaly the same as w70 or w50) is pretty firmly placed, i haven't seen cases of it to mailfunction, i suspect the first case, involving a connector with the display.
Good luck and please post back if you need more info.

Perhaps some moist came behind the glass? perhaps some air? Try to live with it, because the result is what counts and the pictures don't have this problem. I think it will cost far to much to bring it to a service or repair centre. Use the money to buy a new camera what this no longer shoot pictures.
sounds like an iso issue. its a pain but try to write down all your current settings then try resetting in the menu. and try applying all your previous recent settings one by one in shutter priority mode and take a pic before applying each one to see what tips the camera to react the way it has, long process but not sure its a camera issue more just a setting
The display being white can be due to failure of the LCD or the CCD which is the optical sensor of the camera. So to confirm check the older picture to be seen on the display. Confirm this by checking the memory card on your PC. If the images shot are seen to be clear on the PC , then the LCD can be faulty, fault on the linking cable or the control board.
However if the older images are seen well then the LCD is working correctly and the fault can be failure of the CCD- charge coupled device in the camera. If you have accidently exposed the camera directly to high intensity light / sunlight, then it is possible that it is damaged. Remove the battery and keep the camera aside to reset and try as a last resort. Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares. Thank You for using fixya

LCD = Lousy Camera Device? Get used to using the optical viewfinder. The LCD is great for reviewing images after you've taken them, but it leaves a lot to be desired as a viewfinder. Keeping your camera steady is no small feat at the best of times, but being forced to hold the camera away from your body to view an image through the LCD adds a new level of instability to the picture-taking process.
