Question about Samsung PCL545R 54" Rear Projection Television

Convergence Problem? Can't adjust convergence and picture is distorted. Picture looks 3-D and color is out of whack. I've been reading the other forums and it looks like it's the convergence chip (stk-392-040) 22-Pin. If this sounds right, then where is this chip located in the back? On what ciruit board? Might sound like a silly question, but when you don't know, you don't know. Thanks in advance, Mike

    Thanks, Techman! You wouldn't happen to have a picture of the convergence amp. board would you? They have pictures of some things on Samsungparts.com, but not everything. Like to see what I'm buying. Thanks again, Techman.

    jimjay001. Did exactly what Techman recommened. Working like a champ now. I bought two of the convergence amp boards, and replaced them both. Soldered them in and powered the T.V. back up in about two hours. Just make sure to get some new heat sink grease(thermal grease). I bought mine at an electronic supply store (Radio Shack) here in town. Thanks again Techman! Right on the money! http://www.samsungparts.com/part_detail....

Tylerm35184, how did you do with this? I have a repairman coming tomorrow to give me an estimate. Blue convergence is out of whack. Wouldlove to fix it myself but don't know how hard it was. Not technically handy here. Thanks

I had the same problem 2 years ago and paid almost $600 to get it fixed. Same problem again and I just ordered this part and will do it myself. Thanks for the info techman! I will let you know how it works. Now I have to watch the hockey game on my PC tonight. Go Sens Go! Gord
