Monitor Coloring When the monitor is turned on, the coloring is a bit red and bright. When I change the setting on the monitor for brightness contrast, the number with a sun sign going up and down is 100, and the number going side-by-side is 40, and when I raise the number 40, the whole screen goes green. And when I check the RGB setting they're all 100. What should I do? I'm not really an expert on monitors and I don't know most of the controls on it. Please help if you can. Thank You

Well most monitors come with 2 preset color temperatures and the option to customize it(the rgb setting). Your monitor has them as well 6500K or 9300K. 6500 is more reddish(like outdoors) and 9300 is more a bluish white(like a tv, i like the 9300 more). How u said its red and bright, what i would do is set the 9300 preset and if its still too red the customize the RGB by lowering the red. and If too bright then Lower the brightness(Press down on BRIGHTNESS CONTRAST page). If you don't have the manual you can download the full manual from LG's download site here: http://www.lge.com/support/manual. If you see that you can't get it just right, then the monitor might need adjustment from inside and you should make a qualified technician open the monitor and adjust that for you. Hope this was helpful.

HOW TO SET BRIGHTNESS OF THE SCREEN?

Hi,

Dear User...

You can adjust the brightness and contrast of your monitor to improve the readability of text and to make digital pictures appear more like they'll look when printed.

To improve the results when adjusting the brightness and contrast settings for your display, use Display Color Calibration. (Display Color Calibration helps you adjust these color settings and others.) For more information about calibrating your display color in Windows, see Calibrate your display.

The way you adjust brightness and contrast varies and depends on your specific display.

• Brightness and contrast buttons on the front of the monitor. Some monitors have brightness and contrast controls on the front and use the standard symbols shown in the following image.

• On-screen menu. You can change the brightness and contrast settings for some displays by using an on-screen menu, and then setting the brightness and contrast in the resulting menu. Many times, you can view the on-screen menu by pressing a button-possibly labeled Menu-on the front of the monitor.

Thanks....

For a majority of laptops, there isn't a control for setting the contrast.

However, you can set the brightness of many laptops by pressing and holding the Fn key, and then pressing a function key to decrease brightness ( ) or increase brightness ( ).

Adjusting brightness automatically using adaptive brightness

Adaptive brightness is a feature in Windows that uses a light sensor to automatically adjust the display brightness to match the lighting conditions in your computer's surroundings.

To use adaptive brightness, you must have light sensors installed and enabled on your computer.

To determine if your laptop or computer monitor supports adaptive brightness, look for the Enable adaptive brightness setting in Power Options (mentioned in the following procedure) or check the information that came with your computer.

To turn adaptive brightness on or off

Open Power Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then clicking Power Options.

Under any plan, click Change plan settings.

Click Change advanced power settings.

In the list, expand Display, and then expand Enable adaptive brightness.

To turn adaptive brightness on or off when your computer is running on battery power, click On battery, and then, in the list, click On or Off.

To turn adaptive brightness on or off when your computer is plugged into an outlet, click Plugged in, and then, in the list, click On or Off.

Click Apply. Click OK.

Correct Colors of the monitor are not being displayed on my Acer X153W monitor. The screen is more Reddish and Greens have become dark. Manually changing Gamma, brightness and contrast values of Red, Green...

check the VGA chord might have a lose connection. Check the connector if the pin is complete. If you are using a video card check the video card connector. Try to test your monitor to other computer if the problem is still the same it means the monitor have an internal defect which you can ask to the supplier where you bought your monitor because as you've said it is till under the warranty so it may replace a new one by the supplier or store where you bought your monitor.

Lock on monitor adjustments don't know how to turn off the lock so we can adjust brightness and color

Follow these instructions :
  1. Turn on your Samsung monitor (if it isn't already.)

  2. Press the "AUTO" button on your Samsung monitor. This will run the automatic configuration utility. This will look at your current computer settings and adjust your monitor to best match those. This will take a few seconds. If this has calibrated the monitor to meet your needs, you are finished with the process. If it hasn't, continue to Step 3.
  3. Press the "Menu" button on your Samsung computer monitor.
  4. Use the arrows and the "Enter" button on the monitor to highlight and select various settings categories.
  5. Use the "Brightness" menu on your Samsung monitor to adjust how bright or dark you want the image.
  6. Use the "Colors" menu to adjust how prominent certain colors are displayed on your Samsung monitor.
  7. Use the "Contrast" menu to adjust the level of black on your Samsung monitor.
  8. Select "Save and Exit" to save your changes and exit the Samsung monitor's on Screen menu.

The colors on my monitor are faded/bright always changing.

Right click on your desktop (not an icon but a blank space), click "personalize", click on the tab on the far right(settings), click the drop-down menu on the left side above the colored banner, make sure it is set to the most colors(usually 32). If you need a walkthrough for Vista I can provide that as well.

There could be 3 reasons for this...

1. If color settings are changed from the computer...

try to reset to defaults

2. if colors are changed from monitor..

try to reset to factory defaults

3. If the Monitor cable is loose..

try differnt monitor if available with the same cable which is used to connect monitor and computer, or try using different cable on same monitor and computer.....

Monitor color display problem

Go to the control panel. Click on display. The display applet is your next stop. The display applet is your central location for all of your display settings, including resolution, refresh rate, driver info., and color depth. The display applet has 5 tabs: Thmes, Desktop, Screen Saver, Appearance, and Settings. The 5th tab is where you make adjustments that relate directly to your monitor and video card. Look at the Settings tab. At the bottom of the dialog box, you'll see 2 options. Screen Resolution and Color Quality. By moving the Screen Resolution slider, you can change the resolution. The most common resolutions are 640x480, 800x600, 1,024x768, and 1,280x1,024.Your system may have more or fewer resolution options.

The color quality is the number of colors displayed on the screen .You can change the screen resolution with a simple slider and adjust the color depth from 4-bit all the way up to 32-bit color.

Running a 32-bit color gives a nice, realistic tone to images, and many games insist on it.

Clicking the Advance button opens another dialog box with 4 or more tabs.

The monitor tab gives you details about the currently installed monitor and enables you to make changes to the driver and the refresh rate.

After you make your changes to your monitor and it still is not working properly, it must be your video card which is not seated.
In layman term, your video card is not plugged in firmly in the slot!!
