Re: My headset does not hold its charge
Usually Lithium-Ion batteries have a Memory effect, ie. the battery should be 100% consumed then only recharged. If the battery is only 40% used and recharged then the battery will give you only 40% of it's total charge. The battery starts showing you empty after it is 40% consumed even it was 100% charged. Now there is solution for this-Drain battery upto full, store it in a cool place like Frigde then charge it full then again use it upto last. Repeat this procedure for 2-3 times.Your battery should come to normal state. Also check the charging current of the charger. The charger
might also be faulty.

Make sure the battery is good. U can charge it and disconnect it from car overnight and see if it works the next day. If it is still fine then the car has a drain. If no good, then the battery is bogus and cannot hold a charge.
U have something in wiring that is draining the battery after shutdown. Need an ammeter. Hook it up to the battery and wait about a half hour. Then notice draw on meter. Start removing fuses until you locate the line that is responsible for the draw. Then check out each and every item on that trunk line.

Even though it's new the battery may be shot. I bought something and it said battery good for three years and it lasted for a week. Either take it back or replace the battery yourself if you want to try. But my advise is take it back if its new.
This is probably a problem with the internal battery. Some devices do not need to be charged for a very long time as this leads to eventual destruction of their battery. The only way i can specify for you is for you to do the following. Put it on charge and try turning it on, see if it comes on. If it does, the battery may be spoiled so cannot retain charge to power the device as it may have been over charged. Also, if this doesn't work for you, the only thing you can do is to send it to an accessories store for check up or for repairs. Hope this helped you? Please comment for more information.
http://www.newpower99.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=GARMIN+NUVI+260&Show=ExtInfo&gclid=CLzv0pac46ECFQQTawodklsxIg. This place has the battery and tools come with it!. its super easy and way cheaper than buying a new garmin. 2 screws and unplug the old battery and plug in the new. I did mine and I never messed with the internals before.
This is a "known issue" that I have raised to Plantronics. Whether they do anything about it, remains to be seen. The workaround I have discovered seems to work with both of my P590 headphones that stopped charging:
1. Plug in the USB charging cable to a laptop or computer that is powered on. 2. Connect the USB charging cable to the headphones 3. Connect the 3.5mm headphone cord cable to the headphone output on the laptop of computer (this is the long cable with the normal 3.5mm stereo plug at each end) 4. Plug the other end of the 3.5mm cable into the P590 input.
