I have an Acer Flatbed Scanner Model 310P. I've had it for a few years and I really like this scanner. I just purchased a new computer and it has Windows Vista Home as the Operating System. I cannot get the computer to recognize the drivers. How do I download the correct drivers?
You may try the XP drivers, but it will probably fail. Worked with Vista since the beta 1 and have noticed not alot of more than 2 year old equipment getting a Vista certified driver for them. An Hp would have been a safe choice for a Vista drver than an Acer. Alot of the Acer scanners were Arctec,Cannon and Visioneer.

Download the scanner drivers from the Acer WEB site. Make sure you
select the model of your scanner and the XP or Vista version of the drivers you
that require. Use this link to get to the Acer support: - http://www.acersupport.com/drivers_download.aspx
*Follow this link from Microsoft to download the latest driver. *This page provides a list of Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) devices with built-in drivers in the Microsoft Windows XP operating system. There is no need for additional drivers to get the WIA experience out of the box when installing these devices. *For up-to-date drivers for specific devices, see Microsoft Update.
At his site you can download the driver: http://www.scanner-drivers.com/drivers/122/122121.htm

But if Windows is not finding your scanner (does not ask for the driver files), you have a communication problem , probably with the parallel port.

You could try the following. Start/Programs/accessirues/System Tools/Compatability wizard. and reset the system to the operating system the scanner was made for. But be warned if it is a scanner with Win 95/8 drivers it is likely not to work This is because the scanner firmware will only operate with DOS comments not NTFS commands.
