I too had this problen today. Printed off a manual from the Hotpoint website. Very helpful troubleshoot section. Anyway, flashing eco and fast lights and beeping sound indicates 'water feed pipe blocked' You need to check the water inlet connections on your tap. However, when we pulled it out we noticed the blue water inlet pipe was slightly kinked. Straightened this out and hey presto! It works fine again. How this happens when its worked ok for 18 months will never know but still. Try it! hope this was helpful...shewoo

I had a similar problem with my Dishwasher, firsty your going to make a mess,, take apart the pump and completely clean it out, blow into it until the little wheel inside spins,, making sure everything is out, check hoses,, etc. After putting it back together, try again, if once again it does the same thing, try the rest button, and attempt again. My problem was the same, until we found a pumkin seed in the drain pump!!!!! GOOD LUCK

Eco and prewash flashing means the filter needs cleaning it may have large food particles trapped within it.

Hotpoint fdw60 4th and 5th lights flashing - water wont drain away - any advice please??

That is a trouble code from the dishwasher indicating the computer ran into an unexpected problem.

This link has a pretty technical discussion of your exact problem: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forumsphpbb3/dishwasher-forum/hotpoint-fdw60-error-codes-fast-eco-t23513.html

Your problem is a "drain time out error", which means the dishwasher waited for the water to pump out and it never happened (sounds right!).

There are a few things you can check, but unless you're very handy you will probably need a professional:
1) Is the drain line from the dishwasher to the drain plugged by anything? It could be clogged with debris that's been washed off your dishes over the years.
2) Is the drain inside your dishwasher plugged? You'll have to scoop out the water inside to see.

If neither of those, it sounds like either the onboard computer has failed and needs to be replaced, or the pump is plugged or wrecked. In either case, paying for the repairman's time will probably be more expensive than the parts themselves.

After drying there is water in filter trap is this normal

IF THE WATER IN PORTABLE DISHWASHER AT THE BOTTOM IS MORE THAN THE DRAIN HOSE FULL OF WATER THEN ASK WARRANTY PEOPLE. WHEN PUMPING WATER UP IT CAN ONLY PUMP SO MUCH WATER OUT OF HOSE BEFORE THE WATER DRAINS BACK INTO DISHWASHER.-- HOPE THIS HELPS

FDW60 has standing water in the bottom and will not fill up

You most likely have a stubborn clog in your kitchen drain. Try filling the sinks with warm soapy water and then letting the water drain while also turning on your garbage disposal. Sometimes the extra water pressure will help push the clog through.

Hotpoint FDW60 flashing eco light

if the eco light is flashing, this indicates that saftey float switch has activated in the base of the dishwasher usually caused by a leak, a polystyrene float activates a microswitch which cuts of the water inlet supply

Hotpoint fdw20p dishwasher

You need the control panel to reset before anything else can happen. To do this TURN OFF THE PLUG SOCKET FIRST AND UNPLUG. Then you need to drain ALL the water from the machine. Turn off the water supply feed and place the wastage pipe as low to the floor as poss ( 1-2" off floor). Water will gush out so use a large shallow tray and keep emptying the tray. Tilt the dishwasher over slightly to make sure all the water is out.
This will allow the control panel to reset itself which wouldn't normally happen if the base of the dishwasher was holding even a small amount of water.
Re connect the water, plug back in , select the RESET setting on the dial and close the door and switch on.
Leave for about 20 seconds and then turn off.
Rotate the selector switch to "A" Intensive wash and switch
I found this on another site and it really did work for me
