Hello.... i have purchased a cd player on ebay for my car - a kenwood dpx 440 . The cd player works well as does the tape deck. The radio is causing me problems on the FM band.
From the time i connected it the radio goes from 76.0 to 90.0 FM and then back to 76.0. I have changed the aerial and have tried pushing most buttons but i am unalbe to get any of the stations above those to frequencys. It picks up two staions between the two points. The AM works as normal.
I think it came out of a imported vehicle although i am not 100%. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Hi there, there is a
standard procedure we use to bypass the code when we have the gear on
the test bench for repair. Try this and it should sort out your
problem
You need the remote control to do this, if you don't
have one, then you may need to go to a KENWOOD agent and get them to
clear the code for you, or purchase one for your use.

your remote enter your code.

You can try it, but I think you might need a media expander/controller. I see some going for around $100 on Ebay. It allows you to add and interface many component to your deck. But make sure the deck ready to control it. You can tell by the label on the deck(Ipod ready, XM ready, Sirius ready, Changer ready....ect). Goodluck.
