Hi, there.. I have manage to open up the LCD assembly. Confirmed it is the FP-185 is faulty. But am struggling to remove the hinge cover. It seems something is stoping it coming out from below (closer to main body).
Any tips/help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: LCD is not working
Hello,
in order to repair this Camcorder you should replace the LCD panel flexible cable FP-185 and the plastic hinge cover.
If you need more info please advice.
Best regards.

Hi, This problem is due to damaged of flexible board which connects LCD with the main board, The part number and description is given below: Part number 1-864-761-11 Description FP-185 FLEXIBLE BOARD figer is also for your convenience. Thanks for using fixya.
I suddenly had similar problems with my SR300. I replaced the flat ribbon cable (looks orange) between the body and the LCD display and camera works like new. The ribbon cable is subject to cracking the internal wires where it flexes when you open and close the LCD display. There was also a new part number for the cable so I suspect it is a known problem.
Well I saw on other post you can turn the screen outwards. It is very difficult to use....but you have to do what you have to do. For the view finder I am still searching for an answer..
the flex wire of the lcd monitor is already cut and already left is on
the touch screen that why is functioning ...go the sony service for the
replacing flex wire...or to the other service center for fixing the
flex wire....
