I have a JVC K-series TV (AV 21KT I think is the model number). For no apparent reason it stopped working two days ago. I have had this TV for about 5 years plus. When I switch it on, the picture appears for about 3 seconds (the interlacing is really bad)... then in the centre of the screen the text "X-ray" appears and the TV turns it'self off. Then the "Off timer" LED (located next to the power LED) flashes. the only way to turn it on again is to unplug the power and plug in again. What is this "X-ray" error given. What causes it. (does the CRT need to be degaussed or something) Can it be fixed. Please help! regards, Matt (South Africa)
Hi Everybody,
you can dummy the x-ray protection circuit by disconnecting the collector pin of a tiny transistor in horizontal circuit but if you want to get rid of the problem then you need to replace the Jungle IC # TB1226EN
Try this and for more information contact me on '[email protected]'

I have the same problem with my TV. My JVC K-series has also this "X-RAY" thing that pops out when I turn it on. When I remove my TV's antenna, my TV did not turn off by itself. It was on for almost an hour. I thought it's already okay since it was able to stay for more than 3 seconds. But when I return the antenna, the X-RAY error appeared again.. It turned off automatically after a second or two.
