Yes, you can change just the glass. It is called the maintop assembly and usually starts at $275 and goes up. You will need to get the remaining 3 digits for your particular model in order to get the right glass. Take off the switch nobs and center grate, then carefuly lift the glass up/ start on one edge first. Have a towel or pillow to rest the glass once off it is around 250$ to replace glass!

i would avoid cast iron or nickle pans as they are heavy and coarse. i would recomend a nice stainless set with aluminum bottoms

You need to replace the whole cartridge!

There are 3 or 4 screws under the front lip; then the unit hinges upward. Turn off the power first! Once opened you can safaly remove the burners and replace toe top. hope this helps!

the glass top replacemnt is a pretty straightfoward task, a matter of unscrewing one and repalcing it wiht anew one. after ordering new top its a matter of lookin g at eh new top to see which screws would need to be removed from old. hardest part about job will be youll need to do disconnect the downdraft from the venting ,and pull unit up from the counter inwhich it is installe.< not difficult but cumbersome and awkward to manuver. check abd verify full model and serail number and cal manufacture for correct part umber. may cast anywhere fom 200-400 dollars depending on model

The cook top is attached to the wood frame by brackets, just remove the screws and the electric connection, make sure the power is off from the main box, it's a 220 volt wiring and then just lift the top off. to remove the glass, look around the edges and you should see some small screws, just remove them and the glass should lift off.
