Usb ports dont seem to be working anymore on my n750 wireless router

Hi you need to be sure is the default settings of your router Belkin is USB ENABLE .

1. for that go to setup page Belkin .
2. open a browser explore and erase the address bar
3. type 192.168.2.1 and setup page will be open
4. be sure USB is Enable is not just change the status of Disable for Enable

You may possibly be able to restore your router to factory default settings, by pressing the reset button on the back of the router.

You normally need to press for at least 10 seconds to get back to factory defaults (check your manual).

Sorry, there is no guarantee this will work, but it is worth a try. If it does, you will lose all customised settings (eg password, network key). :(

i am fairly certain The WD my book external hard drive needs to have the correct software to be able to use and because routers dont have a CD drive i dont think you will be able to do it.

If I understand correctly ... You have not connected the drive to a computer.

If I am not mistaken the WD My Book has preinstalled backup software installed on it. It very well might also have a power down built as part of that programming. Try attaching it to a computer to verify this.

Assuming the backup software needs blank drive to work correctly I would first access the drive select all and delete anything you find (if you know how to unhide hidden files do that before you select and delete all) ... As a 2nd option I would just reformat the drive.
