You're in luck! Bissell has pdf files of all of its user guides online. http://www.bissell.com/Products/UserGuides.asp Be prepared for a common problem once you get started. The water may stop spraying on the floor even though the accessory tool does spray water. This happened to me and I searched for a solution. It turns out that this is a very frequent problem. People describe their attempts all over the place. One easy place to look is on amazon.com. Search for "bissell 1699 proheat" and look at the reviews. There is also a copy of the User Guide on the amazon page.

My Bissell Steamcleaner Clearview keeps heating up on the shaft that hold the belt and the belt of course melts and breaks. I bought a new elt and tried to change it out, but the shaft still heats up and makes a burning smell and the power tool does not work, what do I do? Thank you for your time.
