Replaced the projection lamp and went through the O & M Manual and nothing there worked
SOURCE: JVC HD DILA 56G886. replaced lamp and now it shuts down after 10
we found that it is an auto shut off system on the TV due to over heating. The lamp, if not cooled correctly shuts down. We added a mini fan in the back and it seems to work fine now.

There is either dust on the lens or there is a problem deep within the light engine. This is a some-what common problem with these sets. The light engine is very expensive; not economical to repair.

Howdy;
Yes there is a way. The easiest for you would be to remove the back top of the TV. That will give acess to opt lense and mirror. But first check the Lamp and inspect the lense that the Lamp into. It does not take a lot to cause your concern. Use super soft cloth and wipe surfaces.
Good Luck,Big Irish.

It normally means the lamp is in need of being replaced, and its all depending on the use of the TV as well as how long the lamp life is. You should be able to access the lamp via a small section near the rear or the back of the TV unit, if the lamp is blown or faulty it will look the same as a blown light globe.
To obtain a new lamp contact the brands authorised repair agent as they will be able to get trade prices and in turn, give you the best price,
Also make sure that whoever replaces the lamp resets the lamp use time as the TV will still not start if you don't reset the lamp use time as it will still think it has a faulty lamp. I hope this helps, good luck.

I dont have a manual either but when I replaced one on the hd-56g786 I just took the screen off by removing 10 screws and had a ton of room to do it
