For formatting the handset,you can dial *#7780#....than it will ask the security code you have to give the default code as 12345 or you you can give your personal code which you have given…this will not delete any data from your handset…other way is to do the hard reset that will delete all the data for that youi have to dial *#7370# again it will ask the security code similarly you have to given ealier

    for formatting the handset,you can dial *#7780#...than it will ask the security code you have to give the default code as 12345 or you can give your personal code which you have given ..this will not delete any data from your handset..other way is to do the hard reset that will delete all the data from your handset..and for that you have to dial *#7370# again it will ask the security code similarly you have given earlier

Turn off the phone. Press green call button,* and 3 simultaneously. Then press power switch till you see the formatting screen...

If you face problems like nokia 6600 gallery is not opening, camera is not working, Bluetooth device of mobile is not working, mobile is operating much slowly, u’r celll is infested by viruses like commwarior (we’ve an alternate solution for this )..and many other problems then first RESET your phone so that it’ll get the original factory settings. First format by secret codes here and then if the codes failed go for full hard formatting via keys (step 3). Resetting just solves many problems and if the problem still persists go for other alternatives found in our ‘PROBLEM SOLVER’.

RESETTING PHONE BY NOKIA SECRET CODES â (steps 1 and 2)

1st step : SOFT RESETTING NOKIA 6600

A Soft-reset is the process of resetting all the settings of the phone to the factory default! No applications are deleted.

Take backups of ur phone books,calender and others, then simply enter the code
â *#7780#
It will ask for “Restore all phone settings-phone’ll restart….”
Then it asks for security code enter ur security code whose default value is 12345 then the phone is resetted after restart.The phone will be restored to the time when you purchased the phone.Default apps are not deleted.

 

2nd step : HARD RESETTING BY CODE

A Hard-reset is like formatting a memory disk. Itâ formats the phone memory. Everything that has been installed other than default apps at d time of purchase are deleted.The phone’s setting will be restored to the time when you purchased the phone.Default apps are not deleted.

Just enter the code-
*#7370#
Then it asks for security code enter ur security code whose deafault value is 12345 ….then proceed as in previous step…..

NOTE:
The battery must be full or the charger has to be connected to the phone so that it does not run out of power and make the phone unusable.
Take backup of the contacts and other important data in MMC .

FLASHING

3rd step :’FLASHING 6600′ : ANOTHER METHOD FOR HARD FULL FORMATTING

If any of the above methods failed to make your phone formatted then try this step-mainly try this step if the problems are following-blank screen phone unable to boot, phone is only able to boot-up to Nokia screen ,unable to uninstall any installed software, unable to delete certain files on C drive(phone memory).This step is known as flashing of phone. Always do this step at last (after 1st 2 steps are over and u are not successfull) as these problems might be solved by resetting using codes.

To format the (restore factory settings) phone here is a way .
â
â 1. Make sure you phone is fully charged. (At minimum 3/4 of bettery should be left)
â
â 2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card (if possible).
â
â 3. Switch-off your 6600 phone.
â
â 4. Press and hold these three keys together
â
â -Green dial key,-Star key (*)-Three key (3)
â
â then press the power on/off to swtich on the 6600 phone.
â
â Do not let go the three keys until you see the “formatting” screen displayed
â
â 5. After a few minutes, the format will be complete. Your 6600 will now be at its original factory settings (It will reach the same state as that in when you purchased it). All inbuilt applications provided by nokia will not be deleted)

No there is no risk in formatting your Nokia 6600. Firstly ensure the battery should charge by atleast 75%, then take out your memory card from the phone . Press * , 3 , OK , all these three buttons simultaneously & Switch-ON the handset while keep pressing all these three buttons. Your phone will start formatting. After formatting your phone will work absolutely normal.

Please try to format the memory card using a memory card reader on computer and then insert the card back in phone, it will say corrupted again, but now you try again to format it from phone and it should work now,,.....

hi there!

nokia 6600 classic can play .mp3 files for it have its own music player. meaning you can just upload .mp3 files on your memory card, put it in the phone and viola! but if you want to use another music player, you can download realplayer, winamp, etc but this will only add memory to your memory card and may slow down the phone's performance since this is the classic type. you can download these software from cnet.com or brothersoft.com to make sure you get it from safe freeware sites. =)

1. Blank screen phone unable to reboot.
2. Phone only able to boot-up to "Nokia" word screen.
3. Install some program but not able to uninstall it after that.
4. Error messages such as "Child Installer" keeps popping-up.

Do a Full phone formatting on your 6600! as steps below,

1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left.
2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card.
3. Switch-off your 6600 phone.
4. Press and hold 3 keys;
Green dial key, * (star key) & no. 3 key and then press the power on/off to swtich on the 6600 phone.

Remember, do not let go all of the keys and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!

5. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your 6600 will back to original system and factory settting.

to format the Nokia 6600 , you can do a hard reset ( The phone’s setting will be restored )

to do hard reset:
simply enter the code : *#7370#
Then it asks for security code default is 12345

Note:
-before do any reset, you better take a back-ups of your data
-connect to the charger while resetting, this will avoid of running out battery and make your mobile become usable

Reformatting 6600
Hi jheremy,
there are three ways to format ur NOKIA 6600.
But be sure to backup contacts, if they are useful
1) By writing *#7780#, it will ask to restore factory settings, click yes.
2) By writing *#7370#, restore factory setting, click yes.

3) (original way) turn off the phone. Press and hold 3 buttons ( green dial button + * + 3 ) at once and turn on the phone .
Hold 3 buttons with power button until formatting screen appears. When it is complete, it ask to reset phone.
After restart, ur phone is formatted n ready.
