Question about HP OfficeJet K80 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Cannot get thefax function to work

I've never needed to use the K80's fax function. Now I do. The K80 seems to work properly ie, it scans the item to be faxed, it dials the number, but it doesn't make contact with the fax at the other end. I think that I do not have the K80 set up correctly. Also, I do not have a users' guide. Can anyone tell me what to do; or where I can get a Users' Guide.

K80 all in one

Hi,
our problem is similar and we've posted it....We have one land line with fax over facility. The fax is assigned a different phone number to the telephone line. The fax number rings different to the telephone ring but both are 'two rings' and the fax machine cannot differenciate between the two and keeps answering the telephone. The k80 has a maximum of 6 rings before it answers and this is too few to allow us to get to the phne in time. Also we have an answering machine on the telephone line. How do we get the fax to answer only the ring from the fax over line?

is it the same prob? Cowboy has posted some suggestions.

Good luck

K80 OfficeJet has trouble distinguishing fax and phone ring tones

I would suggest getting a new one, but BE SURE you check to see if it will work with VoIP. I have the HP 6210 and it has problems with VoIP as well. Go to a place where you can test it at home and be sure you can return it if it has issues. Best Buy, or Staples are pretty good with returns, but SAVE the receipt! LOL... Sorry I couldn't offer better news! //Don

Panasonic Panafax UF-585/595

could be a number of causes, most common someone fiddling with settings, secondly adsl internet und unfiltered lines so put filter on fax and any ext. ph. lines also contact your telecomunnications co. (and waste hours of time, be put on hold 25 times, told your account number isnt valid, theyre having a glitch in the system, its not their problem, youll have to ring back later, confirm your adress, D.O.B.- Ph no. -credit card no.- tax file no.- and your third cousins 2nd wifes stepsons- ex girlfriends- brothers 4th grade teachers middle name) and ask to have the line checked

You can find that option in Service Mode 6 (Ram Initialize).
Hit Function + 7
Hit Monitor 4 times, then " * "(star)
Press 6 for Ram Initialize
Option 14 (All job clear) is the one you are looking for.
Hit enter and it will run for a few seconds and reboot itself.
