Here is a quick link to a Microsoft site that explains in detail how to remove Internet Explorer 7 and it shows different methods as well. Your Internet Explorer 6 should be restored. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927177 Good Luck! Regards, Babb

When opening Internet Explorer 7.0 receive error, Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to . We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you are using Windows XP, you can remove IE 7 by going to control panel> add remove programs . Remove IE7 from there and then restart your system. It will automatically go back to IE6. This will resolve the issue. You can also reinstall IE7

Print out problem in outlook express 6

Try Re-Installing Internet Explorer in Add or Remove Programs, i.e if you have IE7 or IE8 then you Remove it from list, re-boot and re-install IE7 or IE8 BUT if you are using IE6 then you can either Update it to IE7 or IE8.

Alernatively while in Add or Remove Programs you'll see 4 options in the Left hand side pane, choose Add/Remove Windows Components and then Uncheck Internet Explore and Outlook Express, then click Next etc, re-boot and again do the same except this time Check OE and IE.

WARNING make sure you have saved/backed up your emails b4 going on with this last method.

Best bet is to Un-Install/Remove or Update IE6? if not already done so, this is all I can suggest and if those options don't fix it then run a Anti-Malware program it picks up stuff the Anti-Virus programs can't.

Good Luck.

Getting message stating add-on was running when problem occurred

Try going into your control panel & uninstall your Internet explorer, then re-install it. IE7 uninstall can be found in the main add-remove program window, IE6 uninstall can be found under the add-remove windows components part of the add-remove programs. To re-install IE7, though, you need to go to windows update to download IE7 again. This won't be a problem because uninstalling IE7 automaticaly returns you to IE6

IE7 flashes briefly when I click on it and then goes away

Hi,

This usually happens after installation. 1. Click START–>RUN and type cmd
2. At the prompt, type cd and press ENTER
3. Type cd Program Files and press ENTER
4. Type cd Internet Explorer and press ENTER

5. Type regsvr32 IEPROXY.DLL
6. You should get a confirmation that the IEPROXY.DLL has been registered. You can then close all windows and try Internet Explorer again.
If these steps don’t solve the problem, try

Launching IE with add-ons disabled:
1. Click START–>RUN
2. Type iexplore -extoff
You can also create a shortcut so that you can always run Internet Explorer this way.
1. Right-click on the Desktop
2. New–>Shortcut
3. Enter in iexplore -extoff

Hope this helps

I need to downgrade from explorer 7 to explorer 6 on my HP computer

Go to the Control Panel.
Go to add and remove programs.
Make sure that there is a check in the box "show Updates" on the upper right.
Scroll down to Internet Explorer 7
uninstall IE7
then reboot.

That should take you back to IE6
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

Can I run download ie 6 if ie7 is pre-installed on my computer?

Hi Mary,

Mostly, new system with windows vista operating came with Internet explorer 7 which is the update of your internet explorer 6. You can still install IE6 but that could cause a problem with your system registry because you are reverting your internet explorer to the old version.

If you are playing video using your dvd rw you may need to use windows media player or you may need to use power dvd or any video/dvd player that came with your computer.

You dvd/rw is a device where you can write or copy your pictures, documents or any files on a blank dvd or cd.

keep me posted.

1.I have a second option for my Browser, that is I install mozilla
firefox.I use it for my default browser. You can download it here
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

2.I downgrade my IE7 to IE6 by going to ADD/Remove program
and uninstall IE7.After that your IE7 will become IE6
** Windows default is IE6,if you uninstall IE7,your system will become IE6 Automatically.

Best is to try the first step,I think this will help to solve your problem.

Unable to work with Internet Explorer... :-(

It sounds as though the IE7 application may be corrupted. Try removing IE7.

To Remove IE7: Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Select Internet Explorer 7 > Select Remove. IE is a core component of XP. Hence, your machine will revert to IE6. Reboot pc. If you like IE7, visit Microsoft and download a fresh copy.

Good luck.
