Walkabout 330 mobility scooter wiring problems

I have a walkabout 330 3wheel mob scooter my trouble is I don't know what wires go where behind the dash lighting and ignition , the thing was working fine until I broke a key in the ignition and tried to get the ignition switch out and ended up cutting some wires to get decent access . Trouble was I should have taken photo first (not knowing they don't have wiring schematics ) and , now I'm up the creek without a paddle . I need to know what wires go where regarding the lighting and the ignition switch , from the circuit board I would appreciate any help , I enclosed a picture of the circuit board that I have Much appreciated if you can help Kind Regards Gordon

Some of the wires must be colour coded and there can't be very many.. Get yourself a cheap AVO meter. Disconnect the battery and set the meter to measure resistance. Put one probe on the light socket, try the other on each cut wire in turn until you get a reading. Put a piece of tape around that wire with 'lights' written on it. Work around the scooter until you know where each wire goes and since you know what each position on the switches means you can reconnect. note the lengths as well as colours of the cut wires which will also help. Or find someone with minimal electronic skills.

Your replacement should have come with wire nuts.
Unplug the range.
Snip the wires and strip them back 3/8 inch and attach the wires from the replacement ignitor.

SOURCE: electric mobility scooter says charge is full but won't run

This sounds she has tripped her circuit breaker. It works just like the one on your house, when you ask too much of it it suddenly goes 'pop' and seems to be dead.

Looks like you have the same scooter as mine, it should be a little white button on the back of the base. If you follow this link, it will give you a pdf version of the older model pride victory manual, (Mine is a three, they are up to about 10!) See fig. 8 on page 20 and 'Circuit Breaker' on page 21. Also, Page 33 has the troubleshooting info. Hope this helps.'s%20Manual.pdf

I have a pride go go ultra x scooter... I purchased it, and it had no top dash at all... I put a new throttle pot, and a whole new dash assembly... It runs great... Then I turn the speed pot to fast......

7 flash code is: Throttle control fault.

1. Check wiring for open/short circuits.
2. Check the throttle set-up.... The ohms should be very close to each other when placed checking forward and reverse on set up.

No response at all from meter when switched on. Motor & battery known to be good by substitution.

f when switched on you don't get lights you are not getting any power to the tiller head, the meter should be reading voltage regardless of the condition of the control circuitry. My first scooter was a very old AMIGO, it sat in a barn for 20 yrs, this was anything but a dry environment. As a matter of fact i has to a power washer to clean the two inches of Chicken manure off it. This scooter was so old that it has an discrete component open controller board as opposed to fully potted and enclosed LSI based controllers we see on todays scooters. The engager in the tiller was oxidized, and had to be cleaned and dried out. I rinse the controller out with distilled water then put it in a preheated oven at 150 F for 24 hrs. WARNING make sure of the temperature some ovens will not go this low. The newer controllers are potted and enclosed, making them water resistant, they use LSI which are proprietary and can't be purchased or repaired. I liked older controllers because you could fix them.

What you got to do is what we call "chase the voltage" First you will need a 24v circuit tester

You may also need a VOM meter only $9

The problem is 24volts is either not getting to the tiller head or you have a broken wire in the tiller head. Start at the headlight make sure its switched on. Use the circuit tester, put the clamp to ground, use the probe to find the 24volts, The hot side is the side wired in series with the switch. The tester will light up when it has voltage. Chase the wire back through the system. When you get to a cable or anywhere you can't see the wires use the VOM meter, disconnect the scooters batteries leaving the power switch on. Set the meter to read resistance scale high scale, short the probes together, zero the meter. Put one probe at the headlight the other probe at the connector you think the wire ends up at. Normally every wire is a different combination of colors like red; with a white stripe. Most of the time a wire ends up at a connector and the color code doesn't change. So if you are not getting continuity on any of the pins on the connector you know its got to go, you've isolated the open circuit too the tiler head. Here's a test you can run! Turn headlight on, power on for scooter, disconnect scooter battery, place one probe at head light. Disconnect tiller cable. Probe each pin, one of them hast to cause the meter to deflect to zero. If if doesn't the problem is in the tiller head. When working with little wires i like to use crochet needles. You can use the meter to check cables each pin in must have a pin out. If you don't get continuity between pins the cable is bad toss it.

Testing batteries for E300s scooters

You haven't given me much information, Wendy, such as why you want to test them, or if they are in the scooter. I'll presume that they are not connected, and that you think there may be a fault in the scooter. To test them you will need a multimeter, and if you own ones of these you would know how to test the batteries. They are too expensive to buy for a one-off job, and I won't confuse you by telling you hoe to set up a test lamp.......Hook up the batteries to the scooter and see if it works....Don't forget that the red wire goes to the POSITIVE ( or Plus ) terminal, and the black wire goes to the NEGATIVE ( or Minus) terminal. If you are still having trouble, take the battery to a battery supplier and ask him to check it for you. Please don't forget to rate this answer.

I know what the problem is as I have had it no less than 3 times with my own Revo. The Throttle Pot needs replacing. Luckily they aren't very expensive and you can fit it yourself if you are a handy sort of person. It just involves turning a screw to take out the old one and put in a new one. You can find diagrams on how to do it on the Internet. If you call a mobility company to come out and do it for you, they usually charge about £50 as a Call Out Fee.

The Revos seem prone to this throttle pot problem. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Power not going to solenide drive motor

hi, you need to check where the rear axle comes away from the main frame , the connections here are known to create problems,

Can you hear the brake unit clicking ?

remove the wheel, then remove the brake unit normally fixed by three phillip screws ,please take care not to damage the heads , now disconnect the brake unit but not the wiring, power on and move the throttle lever , does the motor turn ? then it's your brake unit that faulty or the wiring leading to it so check that out, in rare cases the controller has created a fault therefore not powering the brake so the motor cannot turn.

Motor still does not turn, then it either the output stage of the controller that's faulty or the motor itself which again is rare.

Please leave feedback if the advice helps.
