No sound device on my hp 550 laptop

Try installing the latest audio driver from Compaq.
You can download the audio and device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windows drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

check it on the device manager ,the sound driver is not installed , installed the driver then check.....thanks

Find the sound card, reinstall or update the driver. HP drivers can be found on the HP support site! Goodluck!

try going to device manager, scan for new hardware, then update most recent driver for your audio which can be downloaded from your computer manufacturer site. then restart.

1) we will 1st go to device manager and check the drivers
2) check if the mute is checked of unchecked

3) if the driver is not there in device manager then we will go and install the sound drivers from HP.COM

4) we need to check the os if it came with vista of xp
if vista then u have downgraded the os.then it can be the issue with compatablity

5) if it was working after installing xp if sound was there then we can do system recovery

6)
we can do recovery(last option)

you must have got driver cd with your laptop.If you lost it download it from the providers website.

To test camera download AmCap utility (use Google to find it).
Vista does not have any way to test camera by itself!
