Color card? i have been told that the solution to my problem is the color card. how much is this part? can I fix it myself? is the part available online? if you are wondering what i mean here is the original question----- I had this Tv for about a year. One day when I was watching it a lone just appeared throught the screen. That didn't bother me. A while after that I turned on the televion, I get sound but there is no picture. I see red, green, and yellow or white specks all over the screen. What in the world is wrong? Will this cost be a small fortune to fix? HELP!!!

What you can do is take off the back pannel and there is a cord on the top of the board that looks like a computer board, there are many boards in the TV but the one I am talking about is twords the bottom where the video jacks plug in to the TV. Ok once you have located the pannel there is a cord on the top kinda tword the right side, it is many wires inside a black covering. What you need to do is just simply unplug it and plug it back in, do this as many times to try to get it to work. If that doesn;t work you can replace the cord and if that doesn't work then the screen is out and would cost WAY too much to fix, you could buy you a new name brand TV.

My mitsubishi projection tv comes on and works fine for a few minutes then lines like a verticle hold in different colors mostly green flicker up and down the screen like a verticle hold, I would like to...

Mine has the same problem. This kind of TV does not have a color wheel. I changed the 4 1000 uF caps on the DM board like advised here, but it did not fix the problem, but it did change it, so I suspect it's a similar problem somewhere on the signal or main board. The caps were getting ready to burst.

Color wheel failed. Can I fix it myself??

If you contact Optoma and they have the part available then, yes you can fix it yourself. You have to be good at taking things apart and remembering how they go back together. Changing the color wheel assembly is not that hard.

Color wheel problem on my HLP4663WX/XAA

The color wheel is not working, and failed in green. The best case is a cable is loose, color wheels typically have a two pin power connector and a ribbon cable for phase locking. If it is not these connections, you will not be able to fix it yourself.

Graphics Card

helenak,
  • First you should check your connection from your monitor to your computer, generally it will be at the back of CPU (Computer Cabinet).
See the image: 7fe1438.jpg This will be connected to your PC Video out port:351cada.jpg
  • After connecting again try out. If no luck then you shoud buy a PCI VGA card, its easy to installed in your PC, just remove the cover and you will see a slot with white color, try to insert gentlly it will be fixed.
  • Regarding rate there are too many products, you can search at net for your need.

Thanks & Good Luck
Iqbal
