I have the same problem.. looks like I'm in for it. after spending all this $ on a new TV (bought in Dec 2005) The cycling off and on was finally diagnosed as a "bad" Y board and power supply (apparently a common problem with this particular model) If you are in warranty, please don't delay and get them to fix the problem.. If not, be prepared to pay over $1,000 to fix the problem.

Hello, please describe the issue (if the power lamp is on or blinking). Anyway, you will have to call the Authorized Philips Service or the tech with best references. Best regards, Arpi

Magnavox 42 LCD 42mf438b/f7 turns on/off by itself

Mine was doing the same thing. Update the firmware and it fixes the problem. Updating the firmware is done by downloading the file to a thumb-drive from the phillips product support page then plugging in the drive into the side of your television and turning it on. See your manual for slightly better instructions.

Tele will not stay on

I just started having this problem myself.
Try unplugging the TV for 5 minutes, plug it back in and turn it on. This worked for me and so far it's still working.
Someone said this is a "cold reset" and works for a number of problems.

Good Luck.
