there's a temp. sensor that's on the top of the evap coil part number WR55X10025,if this is bad the freezer will not get cold, look at the sensor,if it has a black ring around it where the wires connect to the sensor it's deffinetly bad and has to changed out, go here and you can see the sensor

also is the compressor running?you say the fridge is cool so it sounds like it is,if so check the sensor, when you change out the mother board in the back of machine you should change out the sensor to if it has a black ring on it.also you installed mother board part WR55X10942 ,this is the newest board for your machine.

If you go here you can see the damper, fan assy. that's in the top of your machine in the fresh food side
this is a damper with another fan in it,when the t-stat calls for cold air the damper door opens to let the cold air in from the freezer and the fan in it blows the cold air around inside the fridge,if the freezer is fine and the fridge side is warm most likely this is your problem, part number WR49X10091 and it's around 130 dollars.unplug the machine, remove the light cover on the ceiling, remove the 1/4 inch screws and drop the light assy.remove thhe filter cover on the right side so you can remove the damper assy.pop off the cover on the piece that runs up the back center, remove the screws to the damper, read the instructions and put it back together again.should take you around 45 to 60 minutes.hope this helps and good luck.

and get back to you about if it works :)

  • Sal De Sep 27, 2012

james,as long as you don't have a defrost problem and you can tell if this is happening by checking the back inside wall of the freezer to see if there's any frost on the wall, and also that one of the doors weren't left open and you'll see frozen water droplets on the packages most likely this is your problem,

Make sure the fan inside the freezer is running. If so, remove the cover from the back of inside of the freezer. If it is clogged with frost you have a defrost circuit problem. Most likely the defrost heater mounted at the bottom of the evaporator coil is burned out.

SOURCE: fridge/freezer cooling inefficiently

Either the repair guy did not wire up the heater correctly or he replaced the wrong part, if the heater was good it was likley to be the defrost thermostat...I would call the repair guy back to check.

Setting the cooling setting up all the way will not help at all.Make sure your freezer and refrigerator controls are about the same setting. Temp. settings for refrigerator should be between at medium.. Freezer about 0 to -10.If it is a simple fix this will help.

Fridge gets cold air from freezer to cool it. Your freezer is fine but not enough cold air is getting into fridge compartment. U have some dampers or louvers that direct air flow to fridge and if they are not set properly cooling will not be adequate. Check those out.

Ge turbo cool fridge doesn't cool.

If your refrigerator is not cooling, the problem could be as simple as a covered vent or something more complicated that requires the help of a service professional.

Is your thermostat set incorrectly? It's possible to accidentally bump the thermostat, so check it and reset, if necessary, to the proper coolness.

If there's ice on the evaporator cover ( typically found on the back wall), it's a sign that the evaporator coils inside could also be covered in ice and frost, indicating a defrost problem. Try unplugging the fridge and defrosting it before calling for help.

Since you are hearing no unusual sounds, the problem could be the start relay, which triggers the compressor. Have a refrigerator repair pro determine if the start relay is the culprit and to replace it if necessary.
