Laptop My laptop Fujitsu siemens amilo pro v1000 shutsdown randomly when running on batteries. Battery is brand new. i have recently reinstalled XP and the problem began after that. If i leave laptop inactive with screen saver, there are normally no issue and after many hours the battey is flat(as expected) but as soon i activate the laptop like going on internet it shuts down within 2 to 5 min. All software is updated running XP professionel. Please help

The problem sounds like it either has to be with the software, the battery, the modem, the video card or the screen - most likely culprit is the battery (or the charger). The modem, video card and the screen when active are taking much more current than when inactive - (if you are still downloading things while the screensaver is on without a problem then the modem is not the issue) This extra current drawn is pehaps not able to be coped with by the battery, even though it is able to run the basic operations. If a new battery/charger doesn't solve the problem then the screen has to have a fault causing it to draw excessive current - first thought would be to get the connections that lead through the hinge to the monitor checked -they get damaged quite easily and there could be a short - same applies to the video card although this is more likely to completely fail than to work partially. SOLUTION FOR Four keys as g,h, backspace and windows key...:-

I read this on a website and it worked wonders for me. TRY THIS:-

1. Just remove the adapter so that your laptop does not get any power.

2. Let the battery go completely empty and let the laptop get shut down with low battery automatically.

3. After laptop gets shut down, remove the battery and clean it with some cloth. Also clean the battery panel.

4. Press and hold the power button for kind of 30 seconds or so (laptop will not get ON).

5. Plug in the adapter to the laptop and start the laptop normally.

This process will fix it for you.

If the above does not work:-

1. Start the computer in safe mode with the last best configuration. It may also work for you.

could be hard drive failure,or you might try to reinstall windows before bying a new hardrive,but before any of that go to the BIOS and make sure that the boot order is right usualy hard drive first

Connection to wireless

There is any wireless adapter showing in the control panel.
According to the laptop specs, this laptop did not come with wireless capability. You need to purchase a wireless notebook adapter for it or us it with a network cable.

Battery won't charge

Completely drain the battery so the computer wont even switch on and charge it over night. If its still not working after that then you need to get a new battery.
