Question about Technics SL-1200 Turntable
Hi there guys. This is going to be embarasing but well.. I don't know where to go. I just got myslelf Technics SL-1210 mk2 tuntable. I plugged it in, connected it to my hi fi... the sound was beautiful, apart from the buzzing sound. Obviously I didn't know what was causing it, I figured it must have been the wires. Soooo I decided to turn the deck around and ... screw it open, just to see whether the cinch cables are ok. I didn't mess about inside, just wantes to have a look, see whether they are ok. Didnt find anything unusual so put it back together and played it again... Now apart from buzzing sound I have a really distorted, discusting sound from my vinyls... I found out that buzzing sound was caused by the fact that my hifi couldn't cope with the strenght of the turntable and when I connected it through Numark mixer, the buzzing sound disappeared... Now my "only" concern is that distorted, awful sound when playing records. Has anyone got any idea what can be causing this?
Hi, check to make sure the headshell is fitted properly to the tone arm and that the stylus is not damaged. Cheers john. Styluscity

You could be getting acoustic feedback from the speakers to the TT's. Lower the volume or somehow isolate them from room sounds and vibrations.
