JVC GR-D870 digital camera, how to transfer Min Div tape to PC

Recently i bought JVC GR-D870 digital camera, not able to transfer data from Min Div tape to PC.
I tried using USB post, but PC is not recognizing. Can any one suggest how to transfer?

Hi, You need to use 4 pin firewire cable to connect to the PC. Switch on the cam. Open Windows Movie Maker and import the video from device.

You can't transfer video using the included USC cable. You need to use a firewire cable connected to the DV port located behind the lcd screen. You must also have a firewire card installed in your computer. These can very inexpensive to purchase. I purchased mine, along with the included cable for like $14.00 incld shipping.

If you decide to purchase locally, make sure the DV end of the cable is 4 pin. The end that connects to the card probably wants to be 6 pin.

INEED TO DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE TO CONNECT CAMCORDER TO MY PC TO CONVERT VEDIO TAPE RECORDED
To transfer video from this camcorder to a PC, you need a 1394 cable (also called a "Firewire" cable, and your PC must have a 1394/Firewire connector as well. You can use Movie Maker (which comes with Windows) as the capture software, or you can download Scenalyzer (shareware), Studio (from Pinnacle), or Vegas Movie Studio to do the capture.

Sound playback problems
are those old videos recorded from the same camera? you might need a head cleaner for your camera. Try to play the tapes in different camera for comparison test. caution: make sure that the camera's mechanism does not destroy the tape or put a line or dent on the tape's edges. I suggest you convert those videos to digital format before it's too late.

JVC camcorder won't play and says Condensation present
Get the tapes professionally transferred to DVD before they deteriorate. As for the camcorder, any repair would not be cost-effective.

install the cd driver camed with your camcorder to your pc. after the installation it should be recognizable. hope that helps!

All you have to do, is make sure your computer has a FireWire card in it, and get a cable and hook it up it will automaticalty reconize the device and open up windows movie maker.
