Sandisk sansa e200

Every time i turn my mp3 player on it says "memory full unable to create data base" and all my files that once contained my music and video all say empty. Not only that my computer doesnt recognise it so when i plug it in i cant delete, listen or view my files. But when its plugged into my computer the mp3 player still displays "connected" and still charges the battery. Ive tried switching usb ports in the menu but that doesnt work, and also tried reinstalling the sansa media player from the installation disk and again that did not work. Can anyone help me? Thatd be awsome

I had this same problem on my sansa and tryed the previous solution with no luck. Out of frustration i email the sansa technical support. Try these steps to format the player: -Turn on the player and access MENU > SETTINGS > USB > MSC - Once the player is set to MSC mode, reconnect it to the computer and open the My Computer window. - Once you see the Sansa icon in the My Computer window, right-click it and choose FORMAT - In the Format window, choose FAT 32 and make sure that Quick Format is NOT selected, then choose START -Once the format has completed, disconnect the player from the computer to allow it to refresh. If you plan on using Windows Media Player to transfer files, return to the USB menu and set the player to MTP mode. Otherwise, leave the player in MSC mode and you can now resume transferring files. Formatting your player will deleate all files but you can putt them back on!!! Best of luck!

Hi. Your player may be encountering some system errors due to corrupted files. The best solution may be to re-apply the firmware to reset the player to factory settings. Try this: Switch your Sansa E250 to its Recovery Mode: 1. Make sure the player is powered off 2. Enable the "Hold" switch (located on the top of the player). You would know it's enabled when you see the "orange-colored" surface 3. Press the "Record" button. Make sure you keep it pressed while pressing on the "Menu" button. 4. keep your fingers pressed on these 2 buttons until the E250 LCD screen displays "Welcome to Recovery Mode" 5. Connect your E250 to your computer. (Just a reminder: The minimum Operating System requirements for a Sansa E200 player is Windows XP and above) 6. Double-click on "My Computer" and you would see your Sansa E250 appear as a "16 MB" drive. Note: If you do not see that "16 MB" drive/partition, please repeat steps 1-6. Next, Apply the firmware for the E250 (your player should be connected to your PC at this time): Step 1: Use this link to download the firmware for your Sansa E250 (for better results, please save this file on your "Desktop": http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downl... Step 2: Double left-click on the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen prompts. The file will automatically re-flash your player and format it as well, thereby clearing all possible file/system corruptions that may have occurred. Step 3: When the process is complete, unplug your E250 from your computer, and please make sure you disable the "Hold" switch Step 4: Power up your E250 and 90-99% of the time, it would boot up successfully. If not, your player might need charging. Charge it for at least 2 hours. I hope this helps :)

I have sansa sandisk reburb 2GB mp3 player, it shows refresh data base, please tell me about the action, thanks, bharat

That action happens when you add more files in it! At the first time after you have inserted new files, the player will be checking and creating the list of the files it has inside! Depending on how much data you have changed/added, this process can take up to 10 minutes!

Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings. Then add music this way and see if it is works: 1. How do you delete photos?

If you go into Windows Media Player, you have to change the Library option from Music to Photos and THEN go into the Sync tab - should now display photos instead of music.

Alternatively, you can double-click My Computer, double-click the icon of the Sansa, and find the images or picture folder - you may have to change your usb mode to msc in order to view this folder (don't forget to change it back later, or not all of your files will show up when you want them to). ONLY delete image files - if you delete system files, your mp3 player will become unusable.

Or, you can follow the method reccomended by your manual - the full user's manual is available from Sanidsk's website:
Delete Photos and Video
The photos are stored in 2 locations on your Sansa…My Album and
Thumbnails. The instructions below for deleting photos and video from your
player were created using Windows XP with Windows Media Player 11.
To delete photos from your Sansa, please execute the following steps:
1) Connect your Sansa e200 to your computer
2) Select Open device to view files using Windows Explorer on initial
connection
3) Click the drive containing your photos
4) Click on the photo folder.
5) Highlight and delete the photos stored in My Computer\Sansa
e200\...\Photo\My Album
and My Computer\Sansa
e200\...\Photo\thumbnail\My Album

Download music to computer

Put your Sansa into MSC mode (Settings-USB mode). Connect it to your PC (not a MAC), and it will act just like a removable memory module. You can use windows file explorer to copy, cut, paste the music files just like any other file.
