Question about Mitsubishi VS-55705 55" Rear Projection Television
I have an odler Mitsubishi rear projetion tv. A while ago the picture would completely cut out and then come back after turning the TV off for a while. Now the picture won't stay on for longer than a minute or two. Just before the picture goes, there are black lines on the screen followed by a flash of red/green/blue across the center, then it goes black. Any ideas?
I've seen a lot of vertical problems on those older mitsu's. If it has been intermitant some of those would get bad solder connections on the deflection yoke ( the transformer slid up on the neck of the picture tubes) ther are three and it could be any one. the thing about it is you have to slide it down and take it apart to get to the area that would get the bad connections. If you do not know what you are doing the setup afterwards could be a mess. This is the first thing that comes to mind but be warned there are many many possibilities for what you are describing. good luck

You rock! We finally figured out today that it is one of the connections on the middle deflection yoke board. Until we figure out how to gain access to the board, we were able to bend the wire that goes to it to make a better connection. Thanks a ton!
