Hi, I have a intermittent ignition problem most of the time you put the key in the ignition and it works fine although the glow plug light comes back on for a few mins then goes out. Other times the car wont start although the key turns, other times the car starts but no electrics work ie the, instruments dont function, and no electric windows but the headlamps come on and you can drive it in this state. if this happens I turn it off take key out and put it back in and invariably it works fine but the glow plug light comes back on for a short while.does any body have any ideas please?

I don't have the solution but a possible help in diagnosing. If you remove the water temperature sensor connector from the sensor, the glow plug light should stay on when you go to start the car. Try leaving it on for 15 seconds and then start the car. If it starts right away, it is your sensor. If it doesn't, the good luck.
The sensor is located on the right side of the engine near the top, at the back. It is in the coolant fitting directly behind the hose from the rad, just left of the thermostat. Be careful to disconnect the wires, and not remove the sensor, or you will loose a lot of coolant. The sensor is held in by a separate plastic clip, and the harness just has a little built in clip on the side. Hope you have small hands...

I have a 2005 honda odessey. I left the key in the ignition in the on position. The battery is dead. Do I have to recharge or will it recharge over night?

sounds like a short or loosening wire somewhere - have any "after- market" accessories been added ??? new stereo or amp ?? check these item and there wiring if so. It could also be the ignition switch itself......unfortunately - you may have to wait for a permanent failure to find the cause

Sounds like the starter is the culprit, when the brushes in it are almost gone they will work intermittently and if the brushes aren't touching then you won't even get a click because of the lack of ground for the pull in portion of the starter solenoid winds. The next time it won't start, give the starter a tap or two to confirm this.It should start if i'm right. The starter is under the passengers side just to the rear of the front tire, bolted to the bell housing.
