Xbox live - no connection

Hi, the situation is as follow. I have a linksys WRT160N connected to a laptop (wireless) and a desktop pc (wired). this 2 are working excellent. the problem is the xbox. the first time I configured it (static ip with port forwarding in the router) it works perfect and my nephew connect to xbox live without any problem. but after 2 days, for no aparent reason it stop connecting. it even can't pass the xbox PC test.

It is configured wired to the router and I test the ethernet cable on the laptop and it works fine.

can you help me here?

Hey im having almost same problem, i got a motorola s8vs SURFboard cable modem with a battery in it and my ethernet ccord runs from my modem to my xbox but yet my xbox cant read my ip adress, why is this.. do you know?

you need to register the router to your internet provider so that the modem will always give an internet connection to the router even if the router will be reset.

from that the xbox should follow through and connect to xbox live if you have an open NAT type.

This is a tremendous network management tool well worth the $. If you dont pay, you can still use most features.

Get it and use it to get your connection going at least.

Problem using XBOX 360 Live and Linksys WRT160N

You need to reconfigure the wireless settings of your xbox. First, verify if you xbox can connect online by using ethernet cable. If it works that way, the only thing that you need to reconfigure is the wireless settings of the xbox. Make sure you have the same SSID and encryption key with the new router.
