Question about Brother MFC 3820CN All-In-One InkJet Printer
I removed the hinges and drilled the flat end of them with a half inch drill. There is a spring inside that needs to be removed. It works fine now, except that the lid needs to be propped open when changing ink ( I use a plastic chop stick for this purpose).

Repair hinges with super glue or fabricate something but parts of this nature are out- no way Look for one somewhere that has expired for other reasons and acquire the scrap for parts

I have started down both paths. Super Glue did not hold. And a scrap one is more than I wish to pay. Next time, its HP I think.
I have the same problem. The hinges pieces are attached to each other with a stupidly small loop of plastic. I know someone with a model 3420CN. Same problem.
I'm tossing both Pieces of S... in the garbage. I won't be buying anything with the name Brother on it, ever again.
But how do you actually remove the hinges, thats my problem?
