IMO 2 would be best. A good 10" woofer will give you good all round bass but wont rock your block off. The bigger your woofers the more low end base you will be able to produce so a 10" is a good balance between low end and thumpy bass for a full sounding system. The type of box you decide on encosing the woofers in will also affect your sounds. Consult your local car audio experts for more info. Good Luck

I've had a set of TR-2800s for about 7 years, I started with a kenwood stereo amp but graduated to a Yamaha 5.1 system in 2008, any system with 100 watts or better output on the main channels is fine, You can't blow these things without 400 or more watts.
the power side has to be in line with the battery power side! The ground side to ground! The power that ran from battery (fused) to the amp power is used and cap is tapped in line, on that power lead! that way your amp gets power with cap charging and stable voltage to amp! taking stress off your charging system and better sound! good luck!
the problem sounds like your new sub is drawing to much power and your amp can not handle it. bridging the amp is a good way to get the full power out of your amp. But it isnt always suggested, my solution is to get a bigger amp. I install stereo systems for a living, and i tell my customers that it is smart to get an amp about 100 more watts then the rms rating of your subwoofer.
this is caused by inproper wiring from the speakers/subs to the amplifier.. an amp will still put out power to subs and speakers when it's wired improperly but it won't last for very long doing it... 6 months is longer than usual....
165 watts x 2 @ 4ohms and 200-230 [email protected] 2 ohms or 400-460 watts bridged into a 4 ohm mono load is what the amp will actually do. A single 12 inch sub or a pair of 10 inch subs or 12s would be great
when in doubt go bigger, you might want to get a bigger amp down the road, so its better to not have to buy another wiring kit later.
and the bigger the wire the less line loss you will have so your amp will sound and perform better.
