I try to put my memory card in it's slot but it wont go down all the way and lock in. when i close the lid to where the battery and memory card goes, it goes into place and the camera registers that it is in, however i do not think that this is how it is supposed to be since ive had this camera before; the memory card was able to lock/click into place. any help/advice would be appreciated.
Its because the spring whick locks the memory card has some fault thus it will lock only if given a force which keeps it in place thus the battery cover is providing that force and this can be left as such no problem will be there and can be rectified by visiting an auth. technician and repairing it

Be carefull, never use force. Check if you don't try to put in the card the wrong way around. Then check if nothing is damaged inside the memory slot. You need a bright light and perhaps a magnifying glass, because everything is very small. Compare the memory slot with a memory slot from another camera. Watch how the little knobs on the side look. I don't mean the contacts. When the contacts are bent, there is a possibility someone once pressed a memory card in the wrong way around and damaged the contacts and knob to secure the card.
if it is an external slot ..and not under the back lid...just remove the cover ..and insert the card and pres it in ...it has a click action that locks it in ...and the same when you will want to remove it ...press it with the nail ..inside and after the click will pop out ....If the slot is internal ..see that is has a metal cover that locks in one end and if you pull it out it opens like a lid...insert the card and cover it back ..
where do you put your memory card? i guess its a piece of cake. at the left side of the phone under the infrared slot there is the slot for memory card. just open its lid insert the memory card in the right direction and your memory card will be read by your phone.
2.Remove the laptop Battery ( Close the Lid , turn
the laptop Up side down, search for a battery Lock tab, move it to Unlock
position, You can see a Lock/Unlock mark on the Laptop cover, this will eject
the battery from the slot.
carefully pullout the memory card from the card slot, utmost care should be
taken not to damage the card slot contacts
4.After taking out the cardput back the battery make sure that it is in
the locked position
5.Start the computer , try out the system
6.Verify the memory Card reader functionality
using a proper card as per the maker guidelines
It may be that you are trying to put it in backwards. It can go in only one way, contacts first. The last bit in "is" spring loaded so it will take a "little" force. If it truly will no go down pull it out, spin it 180 degrees and try installing it again.
There should be a tiny lever on the side of the memory card. Unlock the card by pushing the lever up. If it still says memory card is full, take out the battery and push the memory card further into the slot. It should not move while it is in the slot. If it "floats" when you close the battery door, it is not down far enough into the slot. Return the battery and close the door.
remove the memory card and look on the side of it their should be a little tab move it to the other possion and try the camera again. if that does not work with the card out gently tap the camera on the card side. and reinsert it their is a sensor that tells the camera their is a card inserted in it. it might be stuck. hope this helps.
