I purchased the above item several years ago and do not use it regularly. I recently had occasion to scan an item I purchased, a plate, that I wanted to place on eBay. The item was scanned and 1/2 of the scan is green. No matter what I did I could not correct the problem.
I most likely purchased the wrong scanner to use for eBay purposes. I originally had a Plustek which was great for scanning dishes, vases, books, etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.
If anyone would like to look a a jpeg file I will gladly e mail it to you.
I did a normal flat copy of a paper in color and 1/2 of the scan was still green.
I called Microtek and they said the CCD (?) color sensing device was bad.
It scans well with black and white but color scans, whether flat or 3D, are 1/2 green.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Re:
Check the scan with normal flat copy.
If that scan is OK it is not the scanner.Have a rethink about how you are scanning
If the the test scan comes up odd
Come back with what software you are using to with thew scanner[Image editor etc.,]
Do more tests before junking the scanner - that will be last move.

Open your ScanWizard, next to "Preview" Tab, is the "Scan To" Tab. Click on the "Scan To" Tab & Create a Folder for your scanned items to be saved on the PC, and click OK.
Download driver from the Microtek website
extract the files to your drive
locate the setup.exe file where you extracted the files
after the driver is installed reboot the pc
Now for the fun part...
Once PC is fully rebooted plug in Scanner ScanMaker s400 Windows looks for drivers in “windows update” and the “preconfigured driver folder” Windows cannot find a driver. Microtek is famous for making a good product that will last you a good while if it is maintained and taken care of. Yet their lack of support for said products is lacking. Try to uninstall and reinstall all the software for the scanner. Make sure before you uninstall that you still have the install disc. If not then you can find the drivers on the Microtek site.
On my scanner 'microtek i 410' when working in Advanced programme, when i go to 'SCAN TO...' I get this message "No scan Job checked". How can this be remedied?
