Lexmark 6150 I can't find my CD to my printer so I need to install it to another computer. How do i get software to install my Lexmark 6150?

To scan documents for editing and saving as PDF file, you will need to install the Lexmark OCR scan software on your computer. 3. Right-click on Lexmark XXXX CD and select Open.

You can enable printer sharing on the computer where the printer is connected, then share the printer so it can be accessed by others on the network. The steps vary depending on which version of Windows the computer is running, so use the help screen. The steps will be listed for you to follow.

On your wireless computer, add the Lexmark printer as a network printer. You will probably need to install the printer drivers, so have the CD handy or download them from Lexmark's website.

Make sure both computers are members of the same workgroup, or the wireless computer won't be able to find the printer on your network. Also, the computer the Lexmark printer is connected to must be on and running for printing over the network.

An easier way to share your printer is by using a USB print server. One example is here. The server connects to your printer by the USB cable, and by an Ethernet cable to one of the wired ports on your router. Then any computer on the network can use the printer at any time.

The OCR application/software can only be installed using the installation cd. It's not available for download. I advise you to call Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK (1-800-539-6275) for the installation cd. They can better assist you with this request. They might be able to send you one for free. If you need more assistance, leave a comment. I'll get right back to it.

If you navigate to lexmarks driver site you will see the following :
"The Vista drivers available on the Lexmark website do not contain the All-In-One Center. They are minimum drivers. Although the scan drivers are shipped with the web package, they cannot be used by the All-In-One Center since it is not included. Please use Windows Scanners and Cameras or Photo Gallery for Scanning."

The All-In-One Center is the software necessary for that

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
Afterdownloading,find the file,doubleclick on the file, if you get introubles ,then followinstructions below to reset and reinstall:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website and run the file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Note:some printer does not work on Vista
