You will need a posiflex cdrom if you are using usb. It will start and then bomb out if it is not a posiflex specific. Open up the unit and use an ide cdrom and when you are finished remove it.

If you have the restore disks than you can use a usb cd-rom and go into the bios and choose usb cd-rom as a boot option. It will then start the restoration process for you.

I'm assuming that you do not have a cd or floppy drive on the terminal. Well i had a similiar terminal with no cd or floppy drive and i managed to re-install the os by removing the hard drive, mounting it on an existing machine with windows 2000 machine then i copied the installation to the hard drive by using the winnt32 command ine utility. So lets say that you remove the hard drive and mount it to another PC(In my case it was a laptop harddrive 2.5" and i needed a converter)and on the pc I formatted it and it was designated as drive G:. My cd rom is drive E: With the windows 2000 cd rom in the drive from the command prompt i typed E:\i386\winnt32 /makelocalsource /syspart:G /tempdrive:G After that completes i put back in the hard drive in the terminal and boot the terminal and i continue with setup. I hope this was helpful!

Thanks a lot babb. This was actually for my brother-in-law who lives in Serbia. Told me to let you know you are the King... once again, many thanks.
I cannot get my Posiflex PC to recognize the USB-CDrom drive. However, it will boot off of the USB-Floppy. I have switched USB connections between floppy/CDrom, but had same results.
anyone explain to me how to actually open this up...
taken out the cable cover... taken off the stand... and taken out four screws on input panel... now wat?
