Photos not going onto memory stick

When taking photos, they are going straight to the cameras memory and not to the memory stick? Not sure how to fix and in the meantime, about how many photos can the camera without the memory stick hold.

Storage defaults to internal memory (32MB) when Memory Stick Duo is not detected/recognised. Check to see if the Memory Stick's write protect tab is unlocked, or try another Memory Stick.

How do i transfer photos that i have put onto computer, back onto camera which has got a new memory stick, so theres no photos on

Using a computer to put pictures back onto a memory card that will be used in a camera is not a recommended procedure. In most cases, it will corrupt the camera. In some cases it works. Do you really want to take the chance?

I put memory stick duo into laptop now am not able to use camera.

It sounds like the photos are downloaded onto the pc... the access might mean that the memory card is empty. Turn the selector wheel on top of the camera to the mode that you take the photos on and try taking a picture. Make sure the card is in the right way first. Also the next time you download the photos just make a new folder on your desktop and label it photos. Insert the memory card open it and highlight one photo then press cntrl and A ...this will highlight all the photos in the folder then drag them to the new folder it will remove the photos from the card and place them in that folder on your pc. hope this helps

I have a sony 8gb memory stick pro duo and when i turn my camera on it comes up with the error message c:13:01 Can i recover my photos

Try some photo recovery software to rescue the files on your digital memory stick, here are some for your options.

Photo Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Recovery for Mac

Be careful: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the memory stick in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.

Have a new sony dsc-w120 cyber shot camera. first digital camera and have no clue. also have memory stick duo. can i transfer pictures directly from the camera to my mac computer using usb...

OK,
Camera has small inbuilt memory that can store few pictures. You can copy these photos in memory stick by inserting memory stick in camera, go to Menu >> Copy >> Yes.
Memory stick stores many photos depends on its size and let memory stick in camera, hook it with computer and transfer photos from memory card.
Thanks.

Only lets me take 26 photos with a 16mb memory stick

the 16 mb card is pretty small -you can buy a 250 mb card which may fix your problem. Also, some digital camera have a built in memory which permits you to take pictures with no memory stick in the camera, but these are always small capaciity. Maybe you need to switch from internal memory to memory stick in your camera settings.

Sony Cybershot - the memory stick is full

More than likely the camera still thinks the photos are on the stick, especially if you deleted the images while it was hooked to the computer. I would safely move the rest of the photos off the stick onto your computer then format the card through the camera and with the camera disconnected from the computer. this should clear the card.

Pictures on memory card

A lot of cameras these days use sub directory folders on the memory stick. Try using a computer to drag all the photos to the top most layer directory on the memory stick.
